37 Summer Camp 5

Thank fuck it's morning.

I'm not even a morning person as well… granted I'm not really an anything person, but holy fuck is it good to be out that sweaty room.

Cramming a bunch of boys in an enclosed space for the night is a dangerous game, especially if those boys are going through puberty. The sheer stench that came from that room could probably resuscitate the dead.

Not just the smell, the snoring as well.

I live by myself, so I've never had much experience with snorers, and I was not ready for that experience.

It was like a goddamn symphony of snores that constantly played throughout the night. How many people can snore so loud without waking each other up is beyond me, I'm just glad I don't have to listen to it again, at least until tonight.

Just the thought of another repeat of last night fills me with the urge to commit homicide.

I need my beauty sleep. Or how else can I keep up my angelic appearance?

It was a silly time in the morning, the alarm woke us up at five, and Aizawa gave us thirty minutes to get breakfast and meet him out front.

The grass beneath our feet was covered in morning dew, not dissimilar to the tree leaves that were still trickled with water droplets from the bout of rain we had last night. The sky was nice and clear, it's looking to be a good day, but for now everyone still had to bear with the morning chills.

The chilly morning matched the cold, sadistic look on Aizawa's face as he soaked in all of the students' complaints about being up so early.

He looked in his element.

My classmates, not so much. You could tell that waking up early wasn't a normal thing for them, everyone had matching bags hanging under a pair of tired eyes. Yawns contagious spread throughout the camp as Aizawa began to speak.

"Good morning class, today we'll begin the training camp to increase your strength. Our goal is to increase each of your skills exponentially, so that each one of you can earn a provisional licence. This will allow you to face the dangers that fester in the darkness." Aizawa tiredly gave his reasoning for the camp.

Pulling a ball out from his pocket, similar to the one we used on our first day at school, Aizawa threw it at Bakugo, "Look alive Bakugo, try throwing that for me."

Eyeing the ball up, Bakugo replies "Yea sure, like in the fitness test?"

"That's right. When you first started school your record was 705.2 metres, let's see if you improved" The sensei answered as Bakugo made some distance between himself and the rest of the students.

As he stretched his shoulders out, the class whispered about his potential score. The general consensus was that he'd be able to launch it much further than at the beginning of the year due to his overall increase in skill.

Finished with his stretches Bakugo wound up his arm, and with a "Go to hell!" He threw the ball as far as he could.

Seconds later, Aizawa came out with the score, plainly stating "That was 709.6 metres." which left the class completely dumbfounded.

There was minor improvement but in the grand scheme of things, it hardly made a difference. If Bakugo's expression was anything to go by, he wasn't a bit pleased at how little he had improved.

"You've had a single semester at UA, and due to all of your various experiences all of you have definitely improved, but all of those improvements have mostly been done in mental prowess and technical skills, with a slight increase in stamina thrown in the way."

"As you can see, your quirks haven't improved much on a fundamental level. That's why we're now going to focus on improving power." Putting on a borderline manic grin Aizawa said "This'll be so hard you'll feel like you're dying. Lets hope you all survive.

-------------------------

The pillar of fire I once again created because unrefined and spluttered out until nothing but embers remained.

My skin burned all over, and a fiery pain assaulted all my body's senses. The stench of burned objects was in the air, if I pushed any further, my own skin cells would be classed as one of those objects.

Craving release from the intense agony, I reached out for the oxygen mask Aizawa gave me and started greedily gulping down pure O2. Every breath took the edge of the pain, and helped to bring my body's oxygen levels back up to normal levels.

I've been repeatedly blasting flames until I run out of oxygen for the past few hours. The training's gruelling, not just for me, but everyone.

As far as I know, Kaminari has probably got it the worst. Aizawa hooked him up to a battery to get a better handle on large amounts of electricity… He's been screaming till his throat couldn't take it anymore. Which was about 3 hours ago.

Hope he's alive.

Class B arrived to camp an hour after we started, so about 6:30? Their homeroom teacher threw them into the deep end as well. I'll tell you, these UA teachers are hardcore. Half the stuff they have us doing would land them with a felony under normal circumstances.

I really, really should've read the small print before going to UA.

Just before my oxygen levels were fully replenished, the bogeyman himself appeared next to me.

"Shinmon, good hustle today. Pack everything up and meet up back at the lodge." Aizawa stated before walking off to see the next student.

I'm assuming that we're going to have dinner. Thank god, I'm starving. We only had a forty five minute break for lunch, and all we were fed were these crappy energy bars.

Letting my stomach lead me, I shakily haul the oxygen tank over my shoulders and puff my way over back to the lodge.
