7 Chapter 6

"Calvin wait!" I yelled.

Aish! I am not allowed to run but I don't want to walk so I'm doing both... walking run? No no no. Get it out of your head and just focus on chasing Calvin. I just want to say hello. Why does this man wants a chase? Hmmm maybe I can just say hello to him in the next class but will he be there?

I am... walking run as fast as I could to get near to Calvin.

"Calvin!" I tap his shoulder so he could notice me.

He glance at my finger, then to my face. Noticing that it's me, he sighed.

"What?" He said while removing his earphone away from his ears.

"Uhh I just want to greet you and see if you're okay..."

"As you can see, I'm fine. Now don't bother me."

"If you're fine, then why did you not attend Ms. H's lesson?"

"Does that matter? If I don't want to attend them I don't want to attend them, easy."

"But—"

"Look, I can be easily irritated and mad at those people who are butting in in someone's life and that person is you. So if you don't want me to explode, please walk away."

Oops... It's not that I'm barging in, I'm just concerned.

"I'm sorry I just—hey!" Ayy this guy, just walking away while I'm not finish saying my apology.

"Hey Calvin, wait!"

"Cooper!" I turned back and see Adrian and Kristine running towards me.

"My gosh, Cooper! Why did you suddenly leave?!" Kristine said... uhhh she yelled. Ari's right, she's loud. I think I will go deaf.

"We just have a fight about it and you said that you'll lower your voice while speaking to us." Adrian reprimands Kristine.

"I said that I will TRY to lower my voice. I can't just do it in a second, I need practice okay?!"

Ari sighed and didn't reply. Apparently tired of speaking. He looks at me.

"Why did you suddenly leave? What if I didn't notice it and someone just kidnap you, what will you do huh?" Oh oh Ari's mad.

"Don't worry, our school has a tight security so no one will ever kidnaps me!"

"...Cooper it's not the point. My point is, you shouldn't leave without me. You'll never know if some bad guy just enters the school without the security noticing. At least I can protect you if something unexpected happens."

"Okay fine, I'm sorry. I promise (not) that I will not do it again."

Ari raised his right eyebrow.

"Okay! Okay! I will try, but I'm not totally promising that I will not do it again. Happy?" He always knows when I'm lying. They always know when I'm lying. Is it that easy for them to read me?

"Oh look at the time! It's time to go to hell! Uggghh!" Kristine said saying that while looking at her wrist pretending that there's a watch there.

"Riri don't be so dramatic, history is not that hard."

"Well, maybe, but it's boring. Hmm, maybe I should go so I can get my beauty sleep."

"Now that was what happened to our world billions of years ago. Now, let's go—Oh look at the time. Sometimes when you're having so much fun with something, you forget the time. Oh well, see you 'till the next discussion." The bell rings as Mr. Gibson, our history teacher, is about to tell a new lesson.

Many people are yawning and some are asleep, which is scolded by Mr. Gibson. If I'm being honest, I'm so close to yawning.

"Kristine, wake up. The class ended. I can't believe that Mr. Gibson didn't notice you sleeping."

"Ohhh... Iz itt finish?" Kristine said, yawning.

"Yeah... How do you that?"

"Do what?"

"That! Not being noticed by Mr. Gibson?"

"Oh honey, you just need a lot of practice." She said with a hint of pride and smug in her tone.

"Please don't teach Cooper to be like you." Adrian said.

"Why not? It's awesome to be like me!"

"Riri your voice is becoming loud again. " I said, my ears bleeding, figuratively. This woman, ayyyy, we're so close to her, so there's no need in making her voice loud.

I look around the classroom. Sigh. He's not here, again. Excellent choice that I talk to Calvin earlier, it's just not that... peaceful.

"Hello? Earth to Cooper?" Riri said. Oops, I'm doing this again.

"Sorry. What are you saying?"

"I said that, what do you want to eat today 'cos my mom made some food and if ever that I don't want it, you can take it..... Why is that you're always absent minded? Daydreaming? Are you still thinking about Calvin?"

"Yeah... You know that I left you two earlier, right? It's because I want to talk to Calvin and.... The conversation turned out... It's not that bad but, he just wants me to stay away from him."

"If I don't know you, I'll think that you have an interest with him and just pursuing him. But seriously, do not pester Calvin, you're just making him uncomfortable. If a person doesn't want you or what you're doing, then stop doing it even if you have a good intention in doing that in the first place."

"I know but it's the first time that I saw someone being... you know...hurt so I feel that I need to do something to help him even if it's just asking him if he's okay."

"Oh Cooper, I know this is harsh but you're not being helpful and you're just making him uncomfortable. Okay, we gotta stop thinking about him and think about how to fill our stomach first how's that?"

Riri's right. Even if she's loud, she can be a good person to seek advice from. "Okay. Let's go eat!"

And she's right too about something: We need to fill our stomach 'cos I'm starving!
