C30: Lovable Brother

"Heroes?"

"Yes... Heroes. The four young ones back there just saved the heir of Laderal from a Grade 5 Lighting Dragon!" the old man contended.

Elijah's eyebrows raised from astonishment when she heard this.

"Did they? And why are they —" when she pushed through the old man to the other side, she only saw Riza wrapping the boy in her embrace.

Winry was lying on the couch, sleeping on Alan's shoulder, and Lucy too.

"Riza? What happened? What lightning dragon?"

Riza explained everything that happened and Elijah explained everything that happened to them. And as it seemed, both groups were useful after all. Thanks to Alan who came up with the idea of dividing them into two groups.

"Have you ever seen the lights of the far east, sister?" Little Rick crawled up the roof and closer to his sister who was lying down at the peak of the roof.

Katie, who was just 17 years old turned to the 13-year-old little brother and caressed her little brother's face.

"No... Only our parents were from the East, my love. Our mother and father traveled here for us to be born here. Our tattoos may differ us, but from heart and mind, we're still humans, just like them."

Rick curled up beside his sister and she wrapped her arm around him, giving him her warmth to survive the cold night.

"Why were they murdered?"

Like every other autumn, he didn't miss to ask this from her. When he was just 10 years old, he had asked the same thing from her. And her answer was;

"Another autumn, I might give you the answer."

This time, she wanted to give him the answer. It had been 3 years after all. She couldn't hide it from the little boy anymore.

Her brother was nuzzled with her, sharing each other's warmth to overdue the cold night. "Hmm... Brother..." she whispered to the little one, placing her hand on his cheeks and pulling his face slightly closer.

"Our parents... Left us in the city, my love. They didn't care about either of us. Me and you... We only have us. So, don't leave me behind, ok?" she asked him.

The brother gazed at her glittering eyes. He could tell that she was crying inside.

"Mmm... Thank you, sister." Rick answered in a calm tone, nuzzling even closer to her.

But actually, Katie was not crying because her parents left her. It was because she had to lie to the only person she loved so much in the world, her brother.

She had never met anyone like her brother before. Handsome, smart, and wonderfully lovable.

But it was because of her, that those two were alone on the top of a roof in the large city. Cold and unsheltered. But nuzzling with her little brother was all she needed to grow stronger, braver... Till the day she becomes more powerful than a Legendary knight itself.

Her brother's hand reached out to grab hers and she gladly crossed fingers with her little brother.

"I love you... Only you, my little lover," she whispered in her brother's ear. Her brother was astonished to hear this, but she was his sister... She wouldn't love him like a partner, would she?

"I love you too, sister," her brother nuzzled a bit closer to her chest, making her feel his breath on top of her breasts.

She blushed slightly and her body heated up. Warmer and warmer she became, but just being nuzzled with him isn't what she wanted from her lover.

Her eyes glittered as if she had earned the will of the wisps. Her brother was utterly weary. His eyes were closed and she had a chance to take this slight chance to confess her love to her own heart, even if the brother's eyes were closed.

"Thank you, brother," she whispered in his ear. However, he didn't seem to wake up. She rolled him aside, slowly mounting Rick's unconscious body.

She hugged him tightly as if she was hugging him to erase the suspicions. Then slowly, her eyes gazed at her brother's lips.

She couldn't push back the feeling of the warmth in her heart. The loneliness she had been feeling since the beginning of their lonely journey.

For the first time in her life, her lips met her brother's. It was her first kiss, as well as her brother's. A moment she'd never shared with anyone else before.

A moment when the cold disappears, along with the wild world before you. A perfect kiss, as she called it.

"Sis..." the brother mumbled and tried to move slightly as she kissed him. Katie couldn't push back her feelings. Her body pressed against her little brother as if she wanted the friction more than anything in the world.

But as her brother awoke from his sleep, she instantly pulled back and broke the kiss before her little brother got back to his senses.

Her cheeks reddened when the brother finally opened his eyes, slightly blushing. He rubbed his eyes and gazed into his sister's eyes.

"Sister... I saw you kissing me in a dream!" he blurted out, pumping up his cheeks like he was mad.

"What?" Katie chuckled as she heard this, and pushed even closer to his face, close enough for their noses to brush against each other.

The brother's face flushed and he looked down. "Sister!"

"Why??" Katie chuckled and placed her hand on her brother's chest, biting her bottom lip. "I can kiss my little brother anytime I want..." she whispered into her brother's ear, breathing into his ear.

Her brother closed his eyes, his face utterly flushed.

She hugged her brother tightly, kissing him on the cheek tenderly. "Mmm! Sister!!" he yelled out, trying to break free from his sister's utterly packed embrace.

"Yeee!" she snuggled with him, making him tickle.

Both of them laughed joyously. And in time, they both settled down, sharing their embrace on the top of the roof. Little Rick was already asleep when Katie finally placed his brother's head on her chest, slowly caressing his head.

'The only thing I would ever need is you, my love...' she thought as she slowly closed her eyes, falling asleep.

Something felt odd to Katie, and she woke up, sitting up on her bed.

Luke was next to her, merely naked. She looked down at Luke and smiled. No matter what Luke tries to give her, still, she didn't get what she wanted the most.

Sighing, she laid back on the bed.

'Oh yes... The old memories.' she told herself, recalling the dream she just had. It was nearly 200 years ago.

"Sigh... Only if I can convince him to love me... He might never kiss me again." she muttered, before turning around and going to sleep once more.
