The Garden

For the next couple of days everyone seemed to be busy. It was only Mistral that accompanied me, sometimes. I haven't even seen Marcus anywhere.

I stayed mostly at the library, reading books about creatures. The library doesn't contained any books related to school or magazines about the latest trends.

From time to time I would paused to think of my brother. And of what I'm going to do next or if I can actually live a life embracing my other identity.

The staffs mostly keep to themselves but sometimes they are really opinionated which I think was very unusaul.. There was no actually staff schedule that they mentioned before, and what's more interesting was the staffs are also half-breeds.

"Here's your coffee Miss." A timid voice sounded from the door.

"Thank you Gladys."

"I have brought also a cake for you Miss, Chef seems to be in the mood for baking cakes today."

I smiled warmly, "Complements to Chef then."

The maid just nodded and smiled.

"Do you have something else to say?" I asked when she still remained standing by the door.

"Gloria thinks that it would be nice for you if you stroll around the garden miss. Bernard takes a really good care of the flowers there."

"Gloria is the housekeeper right? And Bernard, the gardener."

"Yes miss. Master Nick love the garden, he said he can think clearly when he stays there. But you like the library miss, unlike your brother."

The staffs here, I found out, voiced out bravely and shamelessly their opinion, really.

"You like my brother Gladys?" I smiled.

"Yes miss, your brother is nice, but I'm not in love with him if that's what you think."

I was shocked for a moment then I laughed. "I didn't think like that though."

"Do you want to visit the garden now Miss?"

"Hmmm, sure." I closed the book I'm reading and stand up from my seat. I was thinking that maybe it would be nice to smell some fresh air. I was mostly staying at the library these past few days, I think it's time to have a different setting for my thoughts.

Galdys opened the door and I followed her. We walked at an even paced and arrived at the back door of the house. She put down the tray of cake and coffee at the table beside the door before opening it. The breeze outside went in, filled with floral sent.

The sunlight streamed inside and I smiled. This felt nice.

Gladys turned to me and inclined her head as if telling me to move out now. I laughed. She moved to get the tray and walked outside.

I was greeted with a breathtaking view of flowers and chirping of birds and flying butterflies outside. The garden was so vast but it was enclosed from floor to ceiling clear glass.

"The enclosed glass was needed for protection miss. It was enchanted. No one can come in not unless invited. The clear glass is just an illusion, it's actually a powerful spell made by master Marcus."
