Alan moved at incredible speed around Erza throwing lightning bolts at her which she blocked by using a protective metal shield in front of her.

She wasn't able to see Alan but she was able to instinctively block his attacks and predict them before they came at her.

 "You are moving too fast!" Erza raised her hands summoning her metallic arsenal. Razor-sharp blades of various sizes sprang forth, hovering in the air like a deadly metallic storm.

Alan stopped and stood staring at her; his eyes locked into hers. Although she wasn't able to land a clean attack on him, he wasn't able to attack her either as she kept using a metal shield around her protecting her from attacks beyond her sight.
