33 The grades

"Whew," the old man named Gilbert breathed a sigh of relief as Steve disappeared in the teleporting circle. That teleporting circle would teleport him to the outskirts of the purple wilderness.

As he had claimed Steve's existence and his sudden appearance was quite annoying for him. NOt to mention he was on his guard ever since. If he was right Steve hasn't yet done anything harmful neither to him nor to his guild.

However, there was no time for him to waste. He had to do anything in his power for his own safety. Who knows what malicious intentions the man had, and who knows what kind of powerhouse was backing him.

"You called for me Gilbert?"

A man called out to him.

Gilbert frowned and turned around to confirm his thoughts. As he turned around he found the man standing behind him with a smirk on his face.

Standing 5' 8" tall, and built like a warrior with silver skin, this man has a powerful feel about him.

He has beady dark blue eyes and his knee-length, lank, red hair is worn in a cascading style.

His clothes are stylish and poorly-fitting. A red robe matching his very hair and a white coat endowing his silvery skin.

"What are you doing here Abel? I reckon that I mentioned my men to call for your leader"

The man smirks all over again.

"You think our leader has time for a nameless guild like yours? Please"

Abel shrugged his shoulder as if to portray that this was the most expected treatment for his guild.

"Our leader is too busy for that"

This is true. Gilbert is the owner of the nameless guild. A place where nameless warriors and mercenaries who are too lacking in skill form a group. Cause their lack of skill comes in their way from joining any of the renowned families. Such a guild however is too lacking in strength to exist on its own so it has to win the favor of the families like those of Abel for their continued existence. The nameless guild receives protection from the families in dire times in exchange for doing petty works for the family.

"I believe he would have left all his pending work and come running to me if he had read my letter properly"

*sigh*

"Anyway since you are here I will make you work for me"

"I was thinking in the same light"

"Let's go to my office then"

It wasn't until long until found themselves at his office. Gilbert serving Abel with some tea.

"So what's the deal"

Abel asked before sipping his tea.

"A strange man appeared in the city today and he wanted to join my guild"

"A rogue I see. What's so urgent in that. And here I thought after reading your letter that u were in some kind of great predicament"

"You read my letter? Wasn't the leader supposed to receive it?"

"Well that's a different matter I will talk about it some days later"

"So what of the rogue?" asked Abel.

"Don't take him for a rogue. What kind of rogue has strength like him? I couldn't figure out his intentions but it doesn't seem that simple"

"What do you mean?"

"At first I thought that his constitution was adept class but then he later revealed that he was in the Earth level constitution"

Abel was surprised at the revelation it took him some time to digest what he meant.

His anger shot to his roof.

He banged the table with his palm to subdue his anger. The tea in his hands rippled inside the cup.

"Don't kid with me! You think your nameless guild can afford to pull a joke on us?"

Gilbert swayed his head side by side in denial.

"Of course not. I only told what I saw and nothing else. If that man is pulling off some trick on me only heavens can save him from my wrath."

Gilbert continued as Abel listened to what he had to say.

"He came to my guild early in the morning and somehow got into an argument with one of my clerks. From the other clerks, I heard that he had shattered the protective amulet I had lent to that clerk of mine with his bare fists. Mind it that protective amulet was Adept class so and he crushed it with his fists alone, so his constitution must be Adept class at least. At least that's what I thought until the man revealed that he was at the Earth constitution"

Abel was at a loss for words.

And there was a good reason for that. After all, in this world people grow stronger by raising their constitution. Most people on this plane fought my materializing mana. The more mana one used depending upon their innate talent and their understanding of mana the more strength their use of mana can conjure.

Powress in this world is divided into classes.

Sky

With rookie being the lowest and SKy being the highest amongst the well-known classes. There are classes higher than Sky but no one at those classes exists in this country. The ones at Sky class could be counted in one's fingers.

Although these classes are commonly used for referring to mana manipulation however these classes can refer to any of the fighting techniques. Swordsmanship, Monks, etc. While mages are given the classes based on how much maa they can conjure. Non-mana manipulators are given classes based on the understanding of whether they can defeat or stand on equal grounds to a corresponding mage or not. So although the grading system is absolute for the mages it is kind of vague for those who use other methods to fight other than mana.

Each of these classes is divided into three levels.

Regarding why was Abel so shocked at Steve being at the Earth class, it was cause in this world someone at the Earth class could become a low-ranked family leader if he wished to and could even become a mid-rank if he had a good amount of reputation.

Why would such a man apply at a nameless guild like Gilbert's? That was beyond him. He was brainstorming his mind trying to think of possibilities but nothing comes to his mind.
