31 Reasons

Lux looked straight at Ron as he pronounced every single word, "I would like you, as well as Blaire, to act as if you didn't see me."

There was a faint killing intent that lingered around Lux, he seemed to be threatening Ron.

"Forget about this small accident and think that you dreamed about it. For years I've been hiding my identity as Light King; it's neither the place, nor the moment to reveal it."

"But sure, if you think you're not capable of doing so, just tell me. I will take my little sister and leave."

Ron recovered himself after sensing Lux's killing intent that rooted him on his spot.

It took him a moment to realize that the young man he knew since he was a little kid was a completely different person than before.

There was no familiarity left between them as he spoke; acting like they were complete strangers.

Frowning, Ron opened his mouth and asked, "Why are you asking this? Don't you know that after so many years of knowing you, I wouldn't do something like that?"

"Before being the Principal of the Alcaeus Academy and a member of the Ten Families, I'm Silvanna's father."

Trying to clarify his stance, Ron was surprised to see that Lux didn't even budge.

"If it was Silvanna or Maximus in your place, I would have believed you. But they're not."

Lux seemed to grow colder and colder with every second that passed, "There were other people in the past who promised me the same thing; and what happened? I think you know pretty well."

Ron Crestfallen was silent, how could he not know what Lux referred to?

"But even so! Are you really going to live in the past? Why are you so stubborn? Can't you see that not everyone wants for you do fail?"

"Fail? I never considered that I failed in something. Also, please don't speak as if you know me. I simply trusted the wrong people, which resulted in some troubles along the way, but that was all."

"After I received my Ability, I knew I could change things around. But if I am to do so, I will do it for myself and my family."

"To make my point clearer, I thought of taking my sisters away and leave Earth. But since they seem to like it here, I prolonged our staying, for a while."

Ron was now shocked, hearing Lux declaring so casually that his only reasons for staying on Earth were his sisters; the man was flabbergasted.

"What do you mean? Where could you even go?!" Asking this, Ron observed a subtle smile appearing on Lux's face.

"There are other places capable of hosting life other than Earth, don't tell me you weren't aware of this. I would rather take my own life than believe you."

Chuckling a bit, Lux stopped when he saw Ron's complicated expression.

"How did you-"

Before Ron could ask, Lux cut him off, "I'm the Light King, remember? I know everything."

"Anyway, since you now know that I only want to be neutral in your conflict of interest, I would kindly ask you to leave me alone."

"But how could you do that? Isn't your home planet important to you at all? What about your friends? What about my daughter?"

Ron seemed to get a bit angry at Lux's passiveness. He didn't understand why the youth before him was so annoying.

He even saved Earth a few times in the past, what was his reason for being so distant now?

Lux shook his head, Ron wouldn't understand why he decided to not involve himself in these matters anymore.

'There are countless beings that have their eyes set on Earth. Some are... No...' Sighing inwardly, Lux raised his gaze and looked at Ron.

"I already made my stance clear. I won't participate in any kind of race for the throne of Earth or some other bullshit reason you all have."

"As soon as I see it fit, I will take my sisters and a few others, and then leave the planet."

Seeing that Lux was so serious, Ron was speechless; he truly didn't know what to say anymore.

"Are you also going to take Silvanna?" Asked Ron, not expecting for Lux to respond.

"Yes. She will come with me, even if I have to knock her unconscious." With a resolute gaze, Lux responded.

This stunned Ron for a while, and for a reason, he started to become angry at the young man.

"You... Do you really have no shame? Even if you have to run from the past, don't involve my daughter!" At the end, Ron shouted aggressively.

He had enough of Lux's whims and couldn't control himself anymore.

Shaking his head, Lux stood up and prepared to leave, "You don't understand. My only wish is to be left alone, that's all. As for the matter with Silvanna..."

"I'm not running away from the past, I'm just dreading the inevitable future that will hit Earth..."

Once again stunning Ron with his last words, the latter watched as Lux transformed into motes of light before disappearing.

'Dreading the future...?' Ron was left alone in his office. Lux's last words freshly resounded in his mind, like a song on repeat.

After Lux disappeared, he appeared a few kilometers away from the Alcaeus Academy; in an abandoned alley.

Walking a few meters, he knocked against a wall, thing that would've made a lot of people frown and question his mental state; if not for the lack of life around.

"Password."

Surprisingly, a rough voice resounded from behind the wall.

"Shut up already and open the door." Lux rolled his eyes before ordering.

'This idiot and his antics. He should grow a brain already.' Some random thoughts popped up in Lux's head.

But not for long, as the wall suddenly moved aside, as if someone opened a door.

From behind, a huge man that was over 2 meters tall appeared. His long, brown hair, was falling on his back, if not for his insane muscles, some people could even mistake him for a girl...

"What happened, boss? You look to be a bit worn-out." Chuckling a bit, the man eventually broke into laughter.

"Arthur... No, nevermind. Just go and do whatever you were doing." Lux held himself back and didn't scold Arthur; he was already bored of doing it.

"Where is Lydia?" After a second, Lux asked.

"She is busy with some... Erm... What was it called? Anyway, she is busy with something inside her laboratory."

Arthur seemed to be the type to have some mental illnesses, but according to Lux and the others, he was just dumb.

There was no secret behind it.

"I see. Let's get inside then, I'll wait for her to take a break." Acknowledging Arthur's words, Lux hopped behind the wall; before it closed once again by itself.

He looked around for a while, mesmerised by the strange decorations all over the place.

'It seems that someone is still stacking up trash.' Thought Lux, while glancing at a silhouette sleeping on a couch.

"Ferdinand, are you still gathering everything that 'looks' nice?" Waiting for a while, Lux didn't get any response back.

Smiling wrily, he couldn't help but think, 'What kind of team have I created...?'

His only consolation was that there were still some people with their head on their shoulders that could manage the others; without his presence to be needed.

"Boss Lux!" A female voice could be heard, and before the others could see where it came from, a gorgeous blonde-haired girl appeared in front of Lux and Arthur.

She was quite tall, standing at 1.75 meters, her bouncy chest and cute face were enough to make a living.

Her sweet voice resounded once more, "Boss Lux, I accidentally annihilated a few gangs planted by the World Government..."

Lux felt a series of headaches coming his way...
