21 Proto Class

As Lux prepared himself to create fake evidence of a hole with the same depictions that he saw before, Nia and the others officially started their own test.

Everyone seemed to have made their mind to go with their own group, on a different path than other groups.

This was because most were afraid to come into contact with Xia, Mark's group, or Silvanna and the others.

The combat students' mission was simple: kill as many monsters as possible and store their bodies inside their SkyLimit bracelet.

While it sounded easy, it was actually very difficult to do so.

Why? Because it was hard to tell what one's luck when encountering a monster may be.

One could find an S-Class Monster that was close to his/her power, but at the same time, it wasn't impossible to be unlucky enough to wake up face to face with an SSS-Class or even a Proto-Class Monster.

Most of the combat students in the Special Class had a combat power between S-Class to SSS-Class.

It wasn't impossible to say that if a powerful group was put together, they would be able to slay a Proto-Class Monster; a thing that just happened to Nia and the others.

They were currently facing off against an SSS-Class Monster that resembled a monkey. The difference between the two was that this one had four arms instead of two, and that it was bigger.

Standing at around 5 meters tall, the Four-Armed Monkey beat its arms to his chest before bulldozing through many trees to attack Maximus.

Being the tallest and bulkiest of the group, he was considered as the number one threat.

"Shit! That thing is coming after me! Attack it while it's still after me." Saying so, Maximus leaped high in the air to dodge the incoming rush of the monster.

At the same, his hand released a bit of a brown aura that quickly formed a huge saber. Then Maximus actually used his higher ground advantage to slash at the monkey while still mid-air.

"Eat this, you brainless ape!" Spatting those words before reaching his target, one could see Maximus's muscles twitching, it was a result of his ferocious build that poured everything into the saber.

The Four-Armed Monkey quickly raised one of its hands to block the incoming attack.

Clang!

Everyone heard a powerful sound of metal hitting metal, the monkey didn't even lose a single drop of blood, despite being 'defenseless' against Maximus's full powered attack.

"Maximus!"

"Get back!"

Both Emily and Silvanna shouted for Maximus to retreat, but unfortunately for him, it was too late.

They all watched as the monkey turned to face him, before it grabbed Maximus with a single hand.

Opening its mouth, they could see razor-sharp teeth ready to take a good bite of Maximus.

Swish Swish!

But it was then, someone moved so fast that the others didn't see it at all. It was Nia who was in a kneeling position behind the monkey.

Not understanding what just happened, the monkey confusedly turned back to take a look at Nia, but right then, his hand that grabbed Maximus suddenly dropped to the ground.

"AAARRRGGHH!" Releasing a bestial sound, the Four-Armed Monkey grabbed its missing limb with another, his eyes were starting to turn redder by the second.

'This weapon…' Meanwhile, Nia was stunned by the sharpness of the Abyssal Dagger received from Lux. She didn't think that a normal weapon could cut so easily through an SSS-Class Monster's defense.

It felt like slicing butter.

'Then the poison too should be…' When Nia turned to look at the monkey, she was surprised to see it kneeling on the ground.

Some kind of purple smoke could be seen leaving from his wound, and even its previous red eyes turned into a purple shade.

After a few seconds, the Four-Armed Monkey fell to the ground, it wasn't breathing anymore.

This stunned not only Nia, but the others too.

"Nia… W-What was that?" Maximus was the first one to get up and ask. Silvanna and Emily also got closer to inspect the monster's body.

"It's dead. This…" Silvanna sucked a mouthful of air seeing this. She was extremely amazed by Nia's efficiency, and that she basically killed an SSS-Class Monster with a single hit.

"Eh, this is not me… It's my brother who gifted these to me." Saying so, Nia pointed at her Abyssal Daggers and Night-Rendering Armor that she wore.

"That's Liquid Weil?!" Suddenly, Emily exclaimed, this brought everyone's attention to Nia, making her blush.

"Quick, tell us what happened!"

And so, three pairs of eyes trained themselves on Nia.

Back to Lux.

With his power, Lux managed to finish digging a fake hole resembling the one he was in, just a few kilometers away from the entrance.

If someone asked in the future, he would say that he 'luckily' stumbled upon it. And if they asked, 'How come there were no monsters around?'; he will just say that he doesn't know.

And no one should continue pressing him, because there's no definite proof that there were monsters around in the first place.

For now, using his Light Affinity, Lux covered the new hole so that no one would see it.

'That's a masterpiece, I'm pretty good at digging up holes. Hmm, but it shouldn't be something to be proud of…'

Shaking his head, Lux thought of taking his time for a while, and then he could go and gather some materials and herbs.

Luck was without a doubt something that didn't apply to Lux, using his senses he could cover hundreds of kilometers of this Portal.

So that was his least worry, what he wanted to do though was related to the hole from which the monsters seemed to want to keep safe.

He was really curious what would happen if he tried to go inside the entrance from the Portal, could he arrive inside the Divine Dragon World, or would he be rejected?

'Well, I don't have any interest in that world though. So maybe I should just make sure to keep an eye in case some crazy dragon wants to invade the human world, again…'

Humming a tune as he casually walked inside the forest, it seemed that nothing could interrupt Lux's joyous mood.
