Inside a spacious room, skin-toned color furnishing decorated the room. The warm light that was coming through the glass panels made the person lying on the bed frown as if the light was such an annoying sight to see.

Afterwards, the long curly lashes trembled and a pair of clear and calm pitch-black eyes soon opened.

The direct light hitting her line of sight made her squint. Her hand shot up to her face as she tried to block the light from her eyes.

After a few seconds, she got used to the light. But then, she froze as she lightly swept her eyes around the room.

Where is this?

No wait...

Who am I?

Panic started to come through her senses in waves she couldn't understand. Her was in chaos as she tried to remember whatever she could salvage from inside her mind to tell her who she was and why she was in that room. Everything was just too much for her to take in that the beeping sound from the monitor situated near the bed suddenly beeped quickly as if it could detect something wrong was happening to her.

Upon hearing the noise, she turned her head towards the monitor and frowned.

Hospital? She's in the Hospital?

Her breath became shallow as she tried to understand why she was in the hospital. Don't get her wrong. She knew people were sent to the hospital because of various reasons. But what she couldn't comprehend was that she couldn't remember going to this hospital.

No, to be more exact. She can't remember anything at all.

Tiiiiiiiiiiing!

As she tried to remember, the high pitched noise interrupted her. It was as if something inside her was stopping her from remembering anything.

As she was caught in her thought, the door to the room was pulled to the side. It revealed a man clad in white robe, the doctor assigned to check on her.

Before coming her, Doctor Zhang was already expecting that the patient inside was deep in her sleep. It had been a few hours since this lady was sent her by her family because of an accident where the young woman fell on a cliff while she was in a school activity with her class.

There was the really good news when she was sent to the hospital. The doctors who saw her condition already expected she didn't have enough time to live. However, the parents of the patient persisted. But, just as they guessed, the young lady died before the doctors could even allocate an empty operating room.

Yet, just as the doctors were about to pronounce her dead and ready to send her to the mortuary, who knew that the patient was revived without any help. It was a miracle that only happens in movies and one in a hundred thousand cases in the country.

But her condition told them that she may stay in an indefinite state of coma. Thus, they brought her to this room to be checked.

The doctor stared in silence as the lady who was expected to sleep for a very long time looked back at him.

He was speechless and was about to call the attending nurse when the lady pulled the needles attached to her body.

Doctor Zhang panicked but his face was still calm as he walked quickly towards her. He stopped her hands and said, "Ms. Yang, please calm down. Will you please sit down and wait for me here?"

"Ms. Yang?" The lady looked at him in a confused manner.

'This is...' Doctor Zhang quickly realized what was wrong before saying, "You don't remember your name. Your name is Yang Mi. You're a patient sent here to T Hospital in Rao City earlier this morning."

"Yang Mi..." The girl rolled the two words in her tongue as if there was a strange yet a familiar taste to it.

Then, the ringing sound that stopped her earlier suddenly rang once again.

"Ah! It's hurts!" She gasped out as she held her head, feeling as if it would break into two.

Seeing that his suspicion was correct, Doctor Zhang waited for the nurse to come while he tried to calm the young lady down.

"Slowly breathe in and out."

"I already called the nurse and your parents will be here as well."

Yang Mi did as what the doctor told her to do. She breathed in and out. Her nerves gradually calming down.

"I don't remember anything..." She whispered.

The doctor sighed, "That's to be expected." Yang Mi looked up at him. "You hit your head when you fell from the cliff and almost died. The fall must have impacted your brains that resulted in your current dilemma."

Yang Mi was silent. She fell from a cliff and almost died?

From a far place clouded in dark smoke and space, Death watched this scene while seated on a makeshift chair out of bones. A round and twirling smoke let him see what was happening on his dear friend's side.

"This is why I told you to think it through. Not only did you lose your precious bead that contains your memories. You have turned into a complete human now," said Death as he shook his head.

"I just hope you will see the 'truth' and survive this lifetime until we meet again."

Back inside the hospital room, Yang Mi didn't know that her choice led her soul to be incarnated inside the body of a young woman who resembled her true appearance when she was still a human more than a thousand years ago.

What's more, she lost her memories and could only start her new life as someone who was stripped off her majesty and magic, as well as her memories.

However, one thing never changed. Was it fate or was it a mistake?

Because even if she forgot and incarnated into this form... Her eyes that could still see ghosts didn't disappear.

...

Author has something to say: So, Yang Mi didn't die! But what will happen now without her memories? and what about Kaisar?
