Feeling Refreshed!

After the gruesome incident, Vincent sat on his bed, shoulders slumped and eyes falling on the ground. His composure was drowned by an aura of sullenness.

He sighed and looked up to his roof, as if hoping to get some answers.

No matter how strong he thinks he has gotten there would always be someone stronger than he is.

Someone more crazier, someone that exceeds common sense.

Daniel was only the beginning, what does the future hold?

For a cannon fodder like him, how is he supposed to survive?

All those questions and many more tugged Vincent's mind as he reflected on what had happened.

He knew the answers in a way… he knew the only solution…

But there was a note of hesitation written on his face.

'If I decide right here, right now, to carry on… to get stronger and keep getting stronger…will it stop?'

Vincent was worried, it was not a question of what he was willing to do. What he questioned the most was this crude charade… does it ever stop?

The more bully he defeated, the more that will come for him. After defeating Roger, Ferdinand came.

He got lucky and defeated Ferdinand too and now a mad man entered the game. If he somehow defeats this madman one month later who's to say a crazy beast won't come hunting for him?

Vincent shook his head aggressively, dismissing the notion.

'Daniel is the strongest in Mereung. Everyone knows it, maybe this should be the end.'

Vincent took proper considered and came to that conclusion.

The next thing were his wounds. He stood from his bed and walked over to the table, pulling its drawer, he brought out a small first aid kit then gently placed it on the table while looking aloof.

His face was heavily battered, bruised. Remembering how much he had suffered under the fist of Daniel, he softly touched the dried blood on his lips.

Levi and the other had been adamant on taking him to the hospital but he refused.

It would be very annoying to be sourcing for hospital bills in this kind of situation, it's not like he has any money stacked somewhere.

The year was still in its middle and he had spent past his budget. As far as anything goes, he has to survive the rest of this year by managing, since rent money would not come in until the beginning of next year.

His decision not to go to the hospital left Levi heartbroken but someway, the fat guy kept staring at him with a disturbing flames of respect burning in his eyes.

Vincent had a feeling he was about to really have his hands full with that guy.

He smiled as he thought about him then opened the first aid kit.

Taking the bottled menthilated spirit and some cotton wool, he began to softly touch the wound while enduring the burning sensation that coursed through his nerves.

After a while, he had applied to the major parts, he began plastering the wounds… major parts were on his nose bridge, behind his brows, his mouth, cheek, eye corner.

He sighed as he completed the last one then walked back over to his bed and fell on it. Staring uncharismatically into the ceiling.

'I'm tired…'

As the note of it came to his mind, Vincent raised his hand. There was only one supernatural solution to his fatigue that he knew of.

"Oh… here's my coffee" He commanded boringly.

Regardless of how it was said, a white cup of coffee appeared out of thin air and into his hand, he propped himself up and gulped it down in one go, feeling it hit the spot even better than always.

He placed the cup on his bed, much later it disappeared–before then however, Vincent got sleepy and decided to lay his head.

Over four hours passed before Vincent woke up from his sleep. The sleep itself was not expected but that was not the major reason why his face was looking so disjointed.

He touched the small bruises that were on his face to confirm it.

When he woke up, the pain on his face was completely gone, it was the first thing he noticed because it was the last thing that had driven him to sleep.

In shock of that, Vincent moved to the front of his mirror and slowly removed the plaster, he wasn't imagining it.

The wounds were completely gone. He rolled up his sleeves and trouser, only to find a flawlessly smooth skin saying hi to him.

His eyes inspected in disbelief.

"It's all gone." He muttered.

Then, thought of what could have happened. He didn't need to think far before he found his answer.

Wanting to confirm, he summoned the panel that described his cards.

[Card name: Oh! Here's My Coffee!!

[Card type: Utility]

[Description: Once im 48 hours, you can use this card to instantly summon a perfect cup of coffee that will refresh you and heal exhaustion instantly]

'Refresh me and heal exhaustion completely. Perhaps I have taken too lightly its definition of refreshment'

Vincent undoubtedly thought that it just meant the same thing in two words, refreshing and healing exhaustion.

But the truth was that those were two distinct effects, refreshing was a state of relieve from any stress, healing exhaustion spoke in particular about fatigue.

So yes, Vincent had completely missed out the fact that his supernatural coffee had the ability to heal his wound.

However, the discovery wasn't too late. He wasn't feeling any pain from anywhere.

It was as if the fight with Daniel did not happen.

Suddenly, Vincent's countenance fell again.

'What's to be happy about… only the injuries are erased, it's not like that erases the truth.'

After making so much mouth and claiming to be more than he seems, he terribly lost to Daniel…A high school second year.

'He's a high school second year… and he's learned boxing, me on the other hand…'

Vincent stopped, to him his words were beginning to sound like another excuse.

Regardless of what the odds were, it was the result that mattered. And this result was:

"I was defeated." He muttered to himself.

His brows creased to a frightening frown and he shouted:

"I was defeated!!!"

"Shut the fuck up bro!" Someone shouted from outside the compound.

But he didn't mind, he needed to sear this experience of defeat in his mind, how awful it felt, how very bad it felt.

Because now, he was feeling horrible and his instincts were screaming something to his brain.

'I want to get stronger… I want to get stronger.'

His eyes gleamed with a different spark.

This brought him to now check for a second time the two quests that he had received earlier. When they came, he dismissed it immediately because it was annoying.

The system was literally forcing him to do what he didn't want to do. That didn't particularly feel pleasing not after losing the only defense card he had.

He felt awfully annoyed then… but now that a strange cause for power and strength fired through his veins and muscles, he wanted to see again.
