Rebuilding

The head maid struggled to get out of the rubble, but in the end was able to as she stood up with trembling legs, looking at the two of us with anger.

"If you had done the chores, none of this would have happened in the first place." The head maid said, clenching her fist.

Aergia appeared beside them after overhearing what the head maid said. "Laura, did you just say that if the two new maids repaired the palace, this would've never happened?"

"Yes, it is all their fault that this happened." Laura bowed after seeing that Aergia appeared.

"You're saying that you couldn't have repaired the damage yourself? But instead you left the work to the two new maids that have hardly any experience."

"Yes, it is the job of new maids to take care of all the work, allowing the maids who have worked for years to take a break." Laura said, in a tone filled with genuitity.

"I see, it's no wonder I haven't seen the other maids for the last 11 months. I've been not paying any mind to it until now, but since the palace has fallen, I'll be giving the ones who chose to laze around a severe punishment for neglecting to do their jobs."

"I understand, goddess." Laura bowed deeply, showing her regret at failing to follow her goddess's orders.

"And you two, I'm also giv—"

"No thanks. We don't deserve any punishment from you as we've already done enough to pay for it." Aurora interrupted, turning around and grabbing Amia's hand as they walked away.

"You dare! To deny the punishment of our goddess." Laura yelled, with shock in her eyes.

'I don't think the maids were the ones who made the request, which leaves only Aergia.' Aurora thought before saying, "You are not my goddess, right Aergia? You're the one who requested us, meaning you know who my parents are?" Aurora turned around, giving Aergia a small grin.

"You figured it out? Not surprising considering who you are the daughter of, but it seems you won't be as I can't be lazy right now, and it'll take at least a day or two to repair the palace."

'So she does have a less lazy side to her, but that's only when something forces her to not be lazy.' Aurora thought, with a little surprise.

"For the ones still under the rubble, get up. You shouldn't be injured as the laws of this world prevent any injuries from being inflicted on those that inhabit this world." Aergia shouted as some of the rubble moved with the maids getting out of it.

All the maids got out of the rubble and made their way to the goddess, and they kneeled in front of her with their right arm over their chest, saying, "We are all here, goddess."

"Good, now help me clean all this up, and if you do well, then I might forgive you." Aergia said in a domineering tone.

"Yes, goddess." The maids all stood up and began picking up the rubble, moving it to the side as other maids began reconstructing the palace with their abilities.

An hour passed.

Aurora and Amia sighed in relief as during this hour, Aergia wasn't lazy at all as she ordered the maids to help her rebuild the palace by herself, allowing them to complete the quest.

Sitting on top of a tree branch, Aurora and Amia watched them work. "Now that the quest is over, let's help them with nothing else to do for the next few days, and I'd rather stay within a palace than have to camp outside if I had a choice." Aurora said, dropping down to the ground.

"I don't mind." Amia asked, landing on the ground shortly after.

They walked up to where Aergia was and waited for the maid, who was getting orders from Aergia, to leave.

After the maid left, Aergia turned her head to look at them. "I'm assuming you want to help?"

Aurora nodded and said, "Yes, we would."

"That's fine. I'm assuming you both have demonic magic, so how about you work with the construction team and rebuild the palace?" Aergia asked, giving a gentle smile.

"We're fine with anything."
