Chapter 11: Meeting our Seniors!

Adam is tall, dark and handsome. I wonder why he did not join the Mister and Miss United Nations and he is also not in the quiz bee competition. He looks a studious type of person because he wears eyeglasses. He looks a little bit serious and I have noticed Gilbert and him were pretty close because they are always together. My group does not have a specific task at the moment so we always follow Adam wherever he goes. He actually talks a lot which typical of his role as a leader of the committee and the organization. He gives us instructions, his thoughts, some pointers how to do our job while my group is taking notes, ask him some questions, make him repeat what he said if we cannot follow. He is actually a good and kind leader.

My group will have to see him everyday. We always report in their office and see the rest of the officers as well. He already made an assignment for the group. My group members namely Cleo, Marcelo and Marvin receive their assignments and Adam asks them to start working on with their tasks as soon as possible. He asks me to stay with him all the time while I don't have my assigned tasks yet.

I am sitting beside Adam doing some paperwork for him when Gilbert arrives in the office. He approaches Adam and after just a few talks they are laughing already. I pretended not to see Gilbert and put my head's low pretending to be busy with the paperwork. Adam says, "Toni is here, would you like to say hi!" Gilbert says, "Hello Toni, pretending not to see me?" And then I said, "Hi, sir!" Gilbert laughs.

Gilbert left and talk to his group and comes back to see Adam again. He asks Adam to get a drink because he is hydrating. I cannot blame him because today was really warm. Adam said yes and asks me to come. "I am fine I can stay here." I said. "I am not asking you, I want you to come with us!" Adam said. "I think I know what drink are you getting." Gilbert said to me. I said, "I don't have money." Adam said, "Just come!" So I follow them both. When we were leaving the office, I noticed all eyes are on me. I asked myself what are they looking at?

I am walking behind Adam and Gilbert while walking to the canteen. Whenwe reach the canteen, Gilbert said, "Let me guess, you will be having a bobamilk tea." Adam said, "How did you know what drink does he want?" Gilbert paidfor our drinks and said, "Let's have a sit first." I follow them to the table.Adam sits first while Gilbert is still undecided where to sit and waits for meto get a sit first. Gilbert sits beside me.

One of the officers of the senior organization named Gabby approaches our table and asks Adam that he is needed in the office. Adam stands up and asks me to stay with Gilbert. Gabby raises his eyebrow to me and turns around and follows Adam. Gilbert noticed what Gabby did and said, "Don't worry about him he is bitchy to every one." I said, "It is okay, anyway, thank you for the drink again. When are you going to let me buy a drink for you?" He laughs and said, "I thought you don't have any money." I laugh and said, "By the way, I never got the chance to congrats you last time. I want to say hi to you after the program but you were surrounded by your friends and fans." He said, "Thanks and congrats to you too. You were amazing during the competition."

We are walking back to the office and Gilbert asked me if how am I going so far with the volunteering. I said everything is okay so far. Adam is very nice. He said, "I was hoping you will be part of my group." I said, "We will be working altogether by the way."

When we return to the office and Adam is not there at the moment. Gabby says, "He needs to leave as he has a meeting to attend to. For the meantime, Adam said you will be working with me for the meantime." I said, "Okay, sir!" And he said, "Come and follow me quickly." Gilbert told Gabby to take it easy with me and Gabby said, "Don't worry I wont bite him."
