1 Chapter 1: Liuliu Traverses_1

Liuliu had a splitting headache. Who? Who hit me? I was fine after my blind date last night, why now do I feel like my head is about to explode? A thief broke into the house last night? Did they knock me out? Damn it! I curse you that when you tried to rob me you got hit by a car, if you didn't get hit by a car then you ran into police, and if you didn't run into police then you'll get killed in gang warfare!

Liuliu frowned wryly, trying to see what her house looked like now.

Huh? Is this my house? Seriously? Did the thief clean up this much? All my furniture is gone? Even the TV? For goodness sake! Did they even scrape the walls clean enough to expose the red bricks?

Liuliu was so shocked that she jumped up, immediately feeling dizzy.

"Liuliu! You're up?" An elderly woman about fifty years old happened to walk in just as Liuliu sat up and cautiously asked her.

Liuliu? Liuliu's teeth started to chatter. This... this woman looked like an ancient figure, and this room was all but stripped bare, save for an old-fashioned wardrobe in the corner, and even this bed was old-fashioned. This couldn't be my cozy bedroom, could it? Oh no! Did I time-travel like in the legends? No way! I don't want that! How come even my name is the same?

"Liuliu, does your head still hurt?" The elderly woman gingerly asked quietly.

"Tell me! Who was it that hit my head?" Liuliu had never been hit by anyone before. Although it was the original body's owner who had been hit, but it was me who was feeling the pain. I must investigate who the culprit is? If necessary, I will torture them, inflict the cruelest punishments on them to exact my revenge!

"Liuliu, Xiaotian didn't mean it, he left early in the morning to go hunting. He won't be back for half a month, our home depends entirely on him. Please, don't go back to your pregnancy home, okay? When Xiaotian comes back, I'll make him apologize to you. If your family finds out, they'll kill Xiaotian. Your mother is apologizing on behalf of Xiaotian, please spare Xiaotian. Our home is completely dependent on Xiaotian!" The old woman begged and began to sob quietly.

Liuliu's head hurt even more! What? The original body's owner was married? And was hit by her husband? Her parental family seemed very powerful! So why did her parents marry their daughter into such a poor family? And is this old woman supposed to be the mother-in-law?

Oh, man! How overly dramatic! So it turns out that I am a married woman? No more matchmaking for me? Do I have any cheap sons or daughters too? Bring them all out! I can handle this. Saves me the trouble of childbirth!

"Liuliu, are you hungry? I'll bring you some food!" The elderly woman, terrified by the look in her daughter-in-law's eyes, was shaking as she prepared to leave, scared of seeing her daughter-in-law's ferocious look.

As soon as the cheap mother-in-law left, Liuliu cursed God under her breath! God damn you! Are you bored? If you're bored, why not look for someone who enjoys time-traveling? Why choose me? I was able to buy a house and a car on my own by the time I turned thirty, I even had savings. Life was abundant, I am lacking nothing except a man! I am such a catch, I am certain there must be decent men out there who would prize a woman with a house, a car, and savings, right?

God sneered. You? With your looks, you could go on blind dates for the rest of your life and never be married! You're domineering, and any man would have to walk on eggshells around you! Aside from working, you're always practicing Taekwondo, and no man wants a woman who is stronger than them? You're already lucky, with a good man given to you, and you still don't know how to appreciate it? I have no time to care about you, I'm off to sleep!

Liuliu wanted to cry! Little brother, all my houses and cars are lent to you, keep my savings for me. Maybe I'll get home somehow! Don't spend all of my money. That money is my hard-earned money, several million! Dad, Mom, help me watch over my little brother a bit, don't let him squander all of my money! Maybe when I get home, I'll have to go on more blind dates! Original owner, are you dead or not? If you're not, hurry up and come back!

There was no sensation, no fluctuations in the air around her, nor any voice in her mind, nothing of memory shit! Liuliu felt weak, not knowing how the original owner lived her past days. From what the original owner's mother-in-law said, the parents seemed quite formidable. If they also felt their daughter was gone and that this person wearing their daughter's skin was an impostor, would they rise in murderous rage?

Liuliu was not afraid of death! But Liuliu feared pain, and she was even more afraid of the pain of being chopped!

Liuliu made several hypothetical situations about how she would face her parental home. Dealing with the in-laws seemed simple enough since they were scared of her parents. Judging by the mother-in-law, she didn't order her daughter-in-law around, didn't scold her, and didn't treat her disrespectfully. Instead, she carefully treaded around her daughter-in-law. It was extremely rare for a mother-in-law in ancient times to act like this. She was indeed a rare breed!

So how should I act in order not to let my parents discover that their daughter has been replaced? The mother-in-law was right, I should not go back to my parental home.

But what if my parents come over here? Should I remain calm or get upset? It'd be easy to act calm, just act aloof. But if I need to get upset, how should I speak? Curse profusely? Slam the table? Turn over the bench? What would fit the image of a feisty daughter-in-law who was hit in the head by her husband?

While thinking about all this, Liuliu's headache grew worse. Forget it, just go with the flow! I can handle an entire company, I should be able to deal with a few ancient characters!

"Liuliu, eat it while it's hot, okay?" The mother-in-law returned, holding a bowl of clear soup with a few floating grains that seemed to be rice.

Liuliu was dumbfounded. Seriously? This is what they call a meal? We're so poor that there are only a few grains of rice left? Is this some kind of joke? Once this bowl of water goes down, there'll be nothing left when I pee it out. Don't we have any cornbread? Cornbread may taste bad, but at least it fills you up!

"Liuliu, drink some rice soup first, then eat a piece of wild vegetable pancake. If we wait a bit longer, when Xiaotian comes back from hunting, we will have rice to eat!" The mother-in-law said carefully.

There's still a wild vegetable pancake? Well, it's come to this, let me see how it tastes first. I took the bowl of rice soup from the mother-in-law and drank it all in one gulp, then took the wild vegetable pancake from her and took a bite. Oh my god! This tastes so bitter and rough. How did you even cook this? Did you do this on purpose? Liuliu glared displeasedly at the mother-in-law.

"Liuliu, I know you can't eat it, but we don't have any oil at home, so we can only make do like this. It'll get better once Xiaotian comes back!"

Liuliu was truly speechless. Judging by the house you live in, you should be fairly well off in ancient times, right? Then why don't you even have decent food? Did a disaster befall the family? A natural or man-made disaster? No sooner had I come here than everything was gone? Oh, come on!

Liuliu swallowed her discontent, gritted her teeth, and chewed on the coarse wild vegetable pancake. Indeed, she had to drink some rice soup first. Otherwise, even her stomach and intestines might not be able to take the pancake, it was just too coarse!

The mother-in-law left with the empty bowl, still feeling afraid inside, fearing that Liuliu would lose her temper, or worse, decide to return to her parental home. Fortunately, Liuliu did neither.
