Interview
Just like in Vegas, Maya woke up the next day with Lucas by her side. As promised, nothing happened. The man remained on his side of the bed the entire night and did not attempt anything out of line.
She looked at his sleeping face and actually felt a sense of calmness.
At that moment, the man's lips suddenly curved upwards and he said, "You're not planning to run off again, are you?"
Maya quickly looked away as the man opened his eyes. When had he woken up? Was he pretending to still be asleep?
Without answering the man, she climbed out of bed and went to freshen up in the ensuite bathroom. Lucas laughed. By the time she came back out, the bed was empty and the man was nowhere to be seen.
She gently opened the door and peered outside. There was pure silence outside, as though there was no one else in the big mansion.
