Amnesia

Inside the New York Police Department, Olivia sat opposite the officers blankly as they compared her to the photo they had. No matter how they looked at it, they were sure they had the right person. But, Officer Maria Rodriguez, did not understand why this woman had a different name and she was all the way on the other side of the country from where she was meant to be.

Next to Olivia sat her friend, Carlos. He looked like a rough character with an eyebrow ring and tattoos all over his body. Maria didn't want to be prejudiced, but he seemed to be hiding something. Even when she asked him to come to the station with Olivia, he had tried to back out of it. What was going on here?

With suspicion, she leaned forward and showed Olivia the photo that she had. "This is a woman from LA. Her name is Nova Thomas. Have you heard of that name before?" she began to ask.
