I have been going for antenatal checkups and so far everything has been perfect, the baby is in perfect condition. Today I did an ultrasound check and I am going to have a baby boy. Ever since I found out I was pregnant, I have been thinking about Jake a lot. Has he moved on with his life? Is he married now? Was he miserable when he found out I left? Ooh please stop being presumptuous! of course he's moved on. With all that hate he had in his eyes, he must have moved on so fast like the snap of fingers. Maybe he got himself a pretty girl worthy of his standards and stature. Not a wreck like myself. Anyway, who cares! I know I do.

The cafeteria business has been going well and we are now planning to open a new branch in the nearby Highrise Estate of Westlands. Paps, Mr. k as I nowadays called him insisted that I should run the main branch. Am a manager now by the way. Turns out am awesome at business and thrive at it as well. Today we are expecting some investors and being the manager I have to receive them and pitch our idea for the advancement of our hotel to them. And I am late, the baby was kicking all through the night so I slept a bit late and as you know, late to bed is late to rise. As I enter the car, Paps got me, a 2012 Toyota Premio, I can't help but wonder who these investors are, as I have never heard of them and how the meeting will go. Why all the mystery? If I knew their names, I would have looked them up on social media and used their interests to leverage their investment. I once pitched a business idea about creating family-friendly tables in our hotel and this investor bought into it as he was a staunch Christian who believed in the family union. But here I was going to a meeting half-cooked and unprepared. How will the meeting go? But we got to start the day to know right?

It's been 7 months and none of the private investigators has found my beautiful Sabrina, its either they are incompetent or she just vanished from the face of the earth. After having alcohol drinking sprees for a month, I could not take the hangovers anymore, they are the worst, sent from hell I swear. So I overindulged myself in what I did best, run a business. Yes, work and more work, just to forget. In the last seven months, I had fired fourteen employees for very trivial issues. Don't judge me or blame me. There's no room for tardiness in my company, you either shape up to the company's standards or shape out. Am startled from my thoughts, by my sixth secretary within a span of four months, "sir, you have a meeting with the manager of Mr. K's Cafeteria at 11 am, will you make the appointment or should I inform the Vice manager to attend on your behalf?" "Thanks, sec, but I will see to this one myself.", I replied.

Am sure the secretary might have been shocked by my response. Normally it was my vice manager who attended such meetings with small-time businesses such as these, and I oversaw larger meetings with larger international businesses. For this particular one, I could not explain the tight knot I felt in my chest. Maybe it's because I hadn't done this in a long while, but it was the cost of doing business. As I entered the elevator to the ground floor parking garage, I couldn't help but wonder why this small business would tender in their application to have us as their investors when they could have any other investment company, and also why I hadn't heard about this restaurant and why the mystery in revealing the manager of the hotel? But I got to get there first to know, right?
