45 Final chapter

"Calix... I don't know..." I grab his hand, "I want to be with you and that's all that matters but I don't want you and your family to be on bad terms because of me."

"So? What do you want to do? Luna did do you pretty bad."

"Yeah..." I pursed my lips and thought about it, "I think I can let it go through." I looked into his eyes, "If I received an honest and sincere apology." I pointed at my chest, "From the heart "

"You're probably not gonna get that from Luna."

"And I want that from her. Or else I'm not letting it go." I finally came to a decision, "And from you dad, I want the love and respect for a daughter in law he should have and maybe a small apology because he practically disowned you only because I'm your mate "

He smiled, "I'll let them know."

A few days later. Calix and I visited Calix's home where his father and mother greeted us. Mrs Bright was generous as she is but Mr Bright too was lenient with me. He apologized to Calix first and then to me for disrespecting our bond.

Luna wasn't there. She didn't show up but we had dinner with rest of the family.

Mr Bright tried his best to be nice but he got genuinely happy when he learned that I was now attending the college in the whole country. He was further satisfied when he learned I was majoring in law.

From then on the relationship between me and Calix's family got better with the exclusion of Luna.

Her pride didn't allow her to meet me and I don't know if we ever will but I mean it when I say that I'm not backing off either.

I'm not mending anything with her unless I get what I demanded.

But honestly I didn't care about her. I was happy that I had Calix and his parents had come to accept me.

We moved back to Calix's apartment.

He got back to his previous job and started working in the family company which actually upset the regular customers at the cafe but well, life.

I told the Bright family I wasn't going to show up in any of the elite class events till the time I'm done with my degree and have a job.

I wanted to stand as Calix's equal and I wanted to he someone he would be proud of. And to achieve that I made sure to study my butt off.

I don't know what the future holds. I'm still studying and hoping for the best but the fact that is there is that Calix and I are together and I know for sure that we will always be there for each other no matter what.

And truly.

That was all that mattered.
