You Are My Woman.

Emily did not hear him well. "Marry you?" He nodded and she scoffed.

"What the hell Jake?" Her cheeks were flustering red now.

"Oh come on, Em. Technically, we're still married." Jake said. "And now, all I'm saying is that we shouldn't divorce anymore. That's all."

Emily buried her gaze to the ground. Jake was stealing glances of her, wondering why it was too late for her to give him a reply.

Finally, Emily brought her head up to face him. "Not to divorce you, that I can do."

Jake was still waiting, but his eyes asked all the question.

"But...we can take things slow. I need to be sure I can count on you. Your family, they..."

"We'll sort things right. I know that." Jake assured. He leaned closer to her and felt her breathing on hers. When he leaned further to kiss her, she didn't hesitate.

Their lips met and a passionate kiss followed. Finally, they pulled apart, both still staring deep in their eyes.

"We should get some sleep." Jake said to her. She nodded and got on the bed.

They were both lying facing up to the ceiling. Emily wanted to lean further close until she was laying on his shoulders. Jake wanted to draw her closer to lay in his arms.

All they could do that night was to wish.

The next morning, their manager from work had called and prepared a new room for them in the better streets of L.A.

Their hotel room was extravagant, filled with bright lightening and decors. That afternoon, they were indoors. Emily had suggest they went into the cities of L.A for a casual walk but Jake had declined.

"I want to rest," he had said.

Emily was tired of surfing her phone when she caught Jake laughing staring at his phone.

A frown walked it's way over to her face. "You said you were tired and want to rest."

"Yes." Jake said without paying any attention to her. Emily gritted her teeth and jumped up to meet him.

He hadn't seen her coming because now she was in front of him and with ease, snatched the phone from his hand.

"Hey! Give it back."

"No way," Emily said running about in the room. The hotel room was big with lots of space they could move on about.

He caught up with her. Jake's hands grabbed her waist, pulling Emily closer to him. Taken aback by his sudden move, Emily nearly dropped the phone from her hand.

She turned to face him and saw his piercing eyes locked in hers. "You're still so handsome..." she had not stopped a moment to think because the words escaped straight from her mind to her mouth. She paused, shocked she would bring herself to had said something so corky.

"I...I mean..."

"Thank you." Jake said. He was smiling now. He tilted his head a little. "Do you want to have lunch with me?"

Emily smacked her lips. "Only if it's an expensive restaurant."

His hands brushed her hair slightly. "Sure. Clear your schedule for me then, next weekend?"

"We would be back to Seattle by then." Emily reminded.

"Exactly. But we can choose to go where ever you want." He said, not taking his eyes off her. "And by then, you're no longer living with that cousin and aunt of yours."

Emily smiled. "And then, live with who? You?"

"Oh well, we're about to find out. But I could buy you a house and then come live with you."

Emily bursted out into laughter. "Why don't you focus on your career first before looking at a woman."

"You're not just any woman, Em. You're my woman." Jake replied. This warmed Emily's heart.

***

"Hey my love, don't do this anymore." A tall well built man, said to May.

May was angry. She had just spoken to her mom on the phone. Tears had swelled in her eyes. "It's just so annoying, Louis!"

Louis was her boyfriend and she was madly in love with him.

"This is not the way! You can't kill him." Louis said again.

"It's sad, Louis. What are we doing to do?? We need help, we need a new plan. Else, I have no idea what this family will become!" May complained. "We need him. There's no other way."

"Don't think too much about this...I'm sure there's going to be another way. I know that, my love." Louis said. He pulled May into a tight hug and patted her head.
