9 Chapter 9: Catching Cheating on the First Day of Marriage_1

Her decision this morning was too rash. Marriage is a lifelong commitment, even if she was triggered by Xiao Ji, she shouldn't gamble with her marriage and her lifetime of happiness just for a place to hide.

But now it seems too late for regrets.

As Su Hongxing was lost in her distant thoughts, her telephone rang again.

"This is Mo Qiu, Qilan and I are having a meeting at the French Restaurant, if you don't believe me, you can come and see for yourself."

Mo Qiu hung up abruptly without giving Su Hongxing a chance to respond.

Su Hongxing found it amusing. Was she supposed to catch her husband cheating on their first day of marriage?

Normally when she was alone, she would think about Xiao Ji, but now, having something else to focus on wasn't that bad.

After hesitating for a moment, she decided to go out, to see her new husband, Ye Qilan, on a date with his girlfriend.

Unexpectedly, when she arrived at the French Restaurant, she was denied entrance due to her shabby clothes.

Since she had already made the trip, going back empty-handed seemed like a waste.

So, she decided to wait near the French Restaurant, hoping to see Ye Qilan and Mo Qiu when they came out.

Two hours later, the people she was waiting for finally appeared.

Ye Qilan, dressed in a suit, left the restaurant with a beautiful woman.

Contrary to her thoughts, Mo Qiu was sweet-looking and loved to laugh, she wasn't the seductive beauty she had expected. The sight of her walking with Ye Qilan was quite pleasing to the eye.

She suddenly remembered what Bai Chen had said, that Ye Qilan had a preference for women who loved to laugh.

Feeling like she was being watched, Ye Qilan slowed down his pace and turned around suddenly.

Su Hongxing quickly hid in the dark corner, concealing herself.

"Qilan, what are you looking at?" Mo Qiu followed Ye Qilan's gaze.

Ye Qilan shook his head: "Get in the car."

Mo Qiu didn't dare to object. She had been with Ye Qilan for a while, but she had never been able to understand him, just like at this moment. If he didn't speak, no one would ever know what he was thinking.

He was an inscrutable man.

Only when she was sure that Ye Qilan and Mo Qiu had left did Su Hongxing come out from the darkness. She stood still for a moment before boarding the bus back to Shallow Bay Villa.

The villa was still empty as ever, standing in the living room, Su Hongxing looked up at the round white ceiling, it looked like a giant beast, ready to pounce at her at any moment, tearing her to shreds.

For a moment, she felt dizzy.

She knew that this marriage was unstable, and this villa was just a temporary residence for her.

It seemed that she would never escape her fate of being abandoned and this time would probably be no exception.

Feeling dispirited, she went upstairs, took a bath, and went to sleep.

That night, she had a dream. The face of the man she couldn't clearly identify before was extraordinarily clear tonight.

In this villa, it was Ye Qilan, he sat elegantly in front of her, handing her a divorce agreement...

Su Hongxing woke up abruptly in a cold sweat. She pinched her face, telling herself that it was just a nightmare.

But, she remembered clearly Ye Qilan's expressionless face, it was as though his breath was just by her face, even carrying some warmth, it felt so real.

What was most terrifying was that she had had this dream more than once. Her inability to recognize the man's face in the past was replaced this time around by a clearly distinguishable Ye Qilan, much to her fright.

In the following week, Su Hongxing, now aware of the looming crisis she found herself in, sent out several job applications, but none of them brought back any response.
