My Ex-Husband Desires Me

"Wh..wh.. what is this Maxwell?" She raised her head, her vision was blurred with unshed tears.   "Can't you read?" He asked, "I'm filing for a divorce, sign it and let's both go our separate ways." He handed her a pen.   "What did I do? I thought you said you loved me. Were you just fooling with me? Did you toy with my feelings?" She sobbed. The tears she had been holding flowed freely down her cheeks.   "Don't act like you don't know what you did. What? You thought I would never find out? You gold-digging whore!" He yelled.    Morgana grabbed the table cloth, every word that left his mouth was like an arrow piercing through her chest. "Why would you say that to me? You've known me for a year now, do I look like a gold digger to you?" She cleaned her tears, but the tears kept falling nonstop.   "That's because you are good at acting. Do you want me to tell you what you did since you can't seem to remember?"    "You are the reason I got drunk that night, You got me drunk just so you could sleep with me and after that, you leaked the information because you knew that my family would ask us to get married just to save our reputation."  ........... After their wedding anniversary, which ended up with a divorce, Morgana swore to herself that she would work hard and earn for herself and her unborn baby. But then, her supposed Ex-Husband wants her back and is trying his best to get back into her life.

She is Morgana

"But you realized your mistake, you were watching over me in the shadows and if I hadn't read it wrongly, I wouldn't have run away. Let's not dwell in the past, let's focus on the future, let's make it better." She stood on her toes and kissed him.

Maxwell held her waist so she wouldn't trip and fall, the kiss tasted divine. He has missed those lips of hers, they were as soft as he remembered. Morgana wasn't left out, she had also missed his lips, she let out a sigh when his tongue slipped into her mouth.

He broke the kiss and chuckled, "I guess I'm not the only one who has missed the taste of the other's lips. Let's stop here before we can't control ourselves."

Her cheeks turned scarlet, she suck on her bottom lips. He lifted her head and gave her a light peck. "Let's go back home, come back to the house M, it's empty without you in it, it doesn't feel like home."

"I just, I don't know Max, it's not easy to just walk through those doors again." She mumbled.

"I guess I have to try harder, I can't lose you again. I'm going to get you back M." He kissed her knuckles.

"Let me take you home." They returned to the car, Maxwell drove her back home to her parent's house.

"I had a wonderful time today, thank you for dinner." She kissed his cheeks, waved him goodbye and went in. Maxwell stood outside her house, he watched her go in before he left.

The next day, at the Mayor's mansion, Mr. Mayor was reading the newspaper, and his son was on the front page of the newspaper. There was a photo of him kissing a lady on the street under the street lights and moonlight. Since she was backing the camera, they couldn't see who it was, his dad was furious, he had hopes for Morgana and Maxwell to get back together.

He had called him back home to have a word with him. He couldn't show his wife the newspaper because he knew that it would make her sad. But Auntie Fiona had another Newspaper, she rushed to the dining table and gave it to Maxwell's mom.

"Clarissa, have you seen the news? Someone took a picture of Maxwell and a strange girl kissing last night, I think he is over that lying bitch, isn't this good news?" She smiled.

Clarissa quietly read the newspaper, her shoulders slumped, "I guess there's no chance to get them back together, he has moved on from her."

A few minutes later, Maxwell walked in fully dressed for work, he looked like he didn't sleep last night. He had dark circles under his eyes, his hair was dishevelled as though he had run his hand through his hair a couple of times.

"Good morning Dad, Mom and Auntie." He kissed her mother's and auntie's cheeks while he shook his father's hand. He took a seat at the dining table, if he was going to listen to his father talk then he could as well have breakfast with them.

A maid brought him a plate and two glasses. He filled the first one with water and the second with orange juice. He was drinking the water while the maid was serving him breakfast.

"I can see you've moved on from Morgana," his father began, Maxwell choked on his glass of water.

"What gave you that idea," he picked up a napkin and cleaned the water he had spilt.

"There's a picture of you kissing a girl on the street, if you want to do your thing then do it in private Max, I don't want our company to suffer. We already lost a good woman thanks to you, we don't want to lose our sales too." His father said he sounded a little bitter.

His mother didn't even utter a word, she was just staring at her plate of food while they spoke.

"Is that why you called me here?" He almost laughed but he concealed it by clearing his throat. "You couldn't even ask why I look like a mess. For the past week, I've been trying to woo this girl, so I took her out for dinner today amidst all the pile of work I had. I had to spend my entire night doing the things I left unsettled."

"What is the name of this girl who is taking your time?" His mother finally spoke.

"Mom I can't believe you didn't recognize her, she is Morgana." He left everyone in shock, they didn't expect to hear him say that.

"What do you mean she is Morgana, I thought you said she ran away when she found out that you were keeping an eye on her?" His mother asked, eyes popping out.

"I ran into her last week in a Mall, she was working there as a salesperson. They had transferred her from Seattle to New York. We spoke and decided that I'll woo her, try to win her trust again because she is still angry at me."

"Why didn't you tell me?" Clarissa asked, she clapped her hands excitedly.

"I wanted to surprise you, especially with her baby bump, we are expecting a child very soon mom, I'm going to be dad!" He exclaimed happily.

"Are you trying to tell me that she was pregnant when you sent her out of the house? Was that the surprise she said she had for us?" Clarissa was so excited, her hands were clasped together and she had a wide smile spread on her face.

"Then hurry up and woo her, so you can get married again and this time it will be out of love and not a one-night stand." His father said.

"I thought you were angry that I kissed a girl in the streets, ain't you worried about the company's sales anymore?" Maxwell asked with a smug smile.

"You were kissing your wife, what is there to be embarrassed about? Even if you two are divorced, she is still your wife, I don't mind you two kissing on the streets of New York City."

"You are being biased, if it were someone else you would've been angry, I know you would've given me an earful both you and Mom." He frowned.

"That is because that girl is Morgana and she is your wife, instead, showing how much you love your wife is going to increase our sales, think like a businessman Maxwell." His father laughed. He just rolled his eyes and shook his head and went back to his food.

"I'm happy that you two are back together Max but are you sure the baby is yours? You two have been separated for seven to eight months, I would try to verify if I were you." Auntie Fiona said she looked concerned.

"She is eight months pregnant, there's no way the baby isn't mine." He smiled, and Auntie Fiona smiled too.
