17 he is as dumb as a panda

"I don't have a place to stay, I checked in a hotel but my time is almost up, I will be homeless soon. I know I should have some money saved up somewhere but my manager dupped me. She stole all I had and looked for a new talent." Her sobs got louder, Morgana rushed to the kitchen and brought her a glass of water.

"And you didn't contact me because?" Maxwell asked,

"I just didn't want to bother you, after everything. I thought you'd be heartbroken after I rejected you when you asked me to be your girlfriend, but I thought wrong." She glanced at Morgana who handed her a glass of water.

Morgana stared at Maxwell but he was too focused on his childhood friend and first love. She felt a tug in her chest, it hurt. To make it worse, Maxwell sat down next to Phoebe and hugged her.

"We are still friends Phoebe, there's no way I can hate you, no matter what you do, I'll always be here for you. I have a house, why would you choose to stay in a hotel?" He held her cheeks in both hands, he used his thumbs to clean the tears that had trickled down her cheeks.

Morgana hugged him back, her head on his chest, her face was hidden, and she smiled. Her plan was a success, she is here in the house of the guy whom she had broken his heart years ago but he still wants her in his house despite having a wife.

"Where is your hotel? I'll send one of the guards to bring your luggage." Maxwell asked they were still hugging, and his chin was on her head.

"I'll bring my luggage myself, it's a hotel I'm not sure they'll let anyone get in when I'm not there."

"No problem, you should rest, tomorrow you'll go for your things. I think Morgana has a spare dress in her closet for you." He said without thinking how his ex-wife would feel about this.

Trevor who has decided to stay here with them rather than with his mother, walked in. He saw the sin, his eyes landed on the heavily pregnant woman who was looking at her husband. 'Oh God, how dumb can Maxwell be?' he thought.

He entered the room fully and cleared his throat making his appearance known to the people in the room. "Phoebe! Huh." He faked a gasp, he pulled Maxwell away and hugged her.

"What are you doing here?" He asked with a smile on his face.

"Well I was taking a stroll when out of nowhere Maxwell's car almost sent me to the hospital but luckily his driver was quick to hit the brakes and I wasn't hit." She explained what earlier happened.

"No, it's a good thing you are still alive." The sarcasm in his voice didn't go unnoticed by Phoebe but she acted as though she didn't.

"Yeah, on the bright side, I got to be with Maxwell again." She stared at him lovingly.

"And his wife too who is heavily pregnant and standing with swollen feet while you are sitting." The smile on his face didn't quiver.

He was beginning to get on her nerves but she had to control herself. She turned to Morgana, "I'm so sorry, I was too carried away and didn't think about your condition. Please sit." She smiled at her.

"Trevor, what are you saying? If Morgana was tired she would have sat down, this house practically belongs to her." Maxwell said, he glared at Trevor. Since when they were kids, Trevor never liked Phoebe.

He shook his head, stood up and went to Morgana, he held her and led her to one of the sofas in the house and helped her to sit down. He took the glass from her. "Are you sure you want to give him a second chance? Trust me I'll help you run away from him." He whispered jokingly.

Morgana chuckled, "I'm sure but keep that offer in mind." She smiled.

"So, Phoebe, where do you plan on staying?" He gave the glass to a maid who was walking to the kitchen.

"She is going to stay here with us, the house is big enough to contain all of us." Maxwell was deadpan, he was still staring daggers at Trevor but Trevor didn't give two fucks.

"Why here? I mean I can rent her an apartment, for old times, let me rent you an apartment." He offered.

"I'd love that but, I think I'll go with Trevor's offer, I don't want to be a burden." She sniffed.

"Hey, you are not a burden Phoebe, trust me you are not. Stay here, my home is your home." He cleaned the fresh batch of tears that had cascaded down her cheeks.

Morgana had had enough of everything happening in her presence, she stood up and left for her room.

'I tried to save you dude but you continued digging your own grave,' Trevor said to himself and decided to leave them.

"Edna!" Maxwell yelled, and the maid came rushing. "Clean the guestroom, when you are done take out guest there and help her with anything she needs." He ordered. Edna nodded and left.

"I'll have to leave you for now." He stood up and left for his room. Although he was giving Phoebe his attention, he knew that Morgana was angry but he didn't know why.

Phoebe smirked, she cleaned the tears on her cheeks, took out her phone and decided to text her ally. (I'm in, he's still as dumb as I remembered. The only thing he knows how to do perfectly is work but when it comes to matters of the hurt, he can be as dumb as a panda"

"Sometimes I wonder if he is the same person who is handling the company... Like I said Phoebe, make sure you kick her out of that house and make him crumble to dust."

Phoebe put her phone aside and smiled, she leaned into the posh sofa and shut her eyes. It felt nice to sit in luxury again, she wants it all.
