My Ex-Husband Desires Me

"Wh..wh.. what is this Maxwell?" She raised her head, her vision was blurred with unshed tears.   "Can't you read?" He asked, "I'm filing for a divorce, sign it and let's both go our separate ways." He handed her a pen.   "What did I do? I thought you said you loved me. Were you just fooling with me? Did you toy with my feelings?" She sobbed. The tears she had been holding flowed freely down her cheeks.   "Don't act like you don't know what you did. What? You thought I would never find out? You gold-digging whore!" He yelled.    Morgana grabbed the table cloth, every word that left his mouth was like an arrow piercing through her chest. "Why would you say that to me? You've known me for a year now, do I look like a gold digger to you?" She cleaned her tears, but the tears kept falling nonstop.   "That's because you are good at acting. Do you want me to tell you what you did since you can't seem to remember?"    "You are the reason I got drunk that night, You got me drunk just so you could sleep with me and after that, you leaked the information because you knew that my family would ask us to get married just to save our reputation."  ........... After their wedding anniversary, which ended up with a divorce, Morgana swore to herself that she would work hard and earn for herself and her unborn baby. But then, her supposed Ex-Husband wants her back and is trying his best to get back into her life.

Anniversary To Remember

Candles with fire burning on them were on a table, they lit the dark room, rose petals were scattered on the floor, and a bottle of wine in a little bucket filled with ice was at the end of the table. Morgana Philip stood beside the table, she had a beautiful smile on her face. Her brown eyes were glued to the door, her long legs stood straight on the floor, and her plump lips smacked against each other, she was in her mid-twenties.

Her chestnut brown hair was braided at each end of her head, she wore a red evening dress with a deep v-neck. The door opened revealing Maxwell Mayor, a dashing man in his thirties, his blue house scanned the entire room, his thin lips pulled up into a smirk.

"You are home, For a second there I thought you wouldn't make it to our anniversary." Morgana muttered, with a pleasant smile on her face, as she carried the flowers, "I know you are supposed to be the one buying me flowers and all but I wanted to treat you nice, just like you do me." She handed the flowers to him and kissed his lips but he didn't reciprocate.

"You did all of this?" He asked.

"Yes I did, come I made your favourite dishes." She guided him to the table.

"A candlelight dinner." He mumbled, he pulled a seat for her like the gentleman he is.

Morgana served him the meal she had made, "How was work today?"

"Interesting, I don't want to bore you with the details." He finally smiled at her, she flashed him a genuine one as well.

Morgana and Maxwell have been married for a year now, their marriage wasn't the fairytale kind of wedding. Maxwell and Morgana had a one-night stand, it was an accident caused by the alcohol they both drank that night.

His family found out about what happened that night, they had no choice but to get married to each other in order not to tarnish the family's reputation. They have learned to love and care for each other, People thought the marriage wouldn't work out because of the circumstances in which they ended up but here they are celebrating their first anniversary.

After their meal, Morgana suggested that they dance, and she played a song. Maxwell held her slender waist and pulled her close to his chest, She held his shoulder, and both of them locked their free hands together.

They danced to the slow music that was playing, "Who would have thought that we would end up celebrating our first anniversary?" Morgana asked as she placed her head on his chest.

  "Yeah....Who.." came his distant reply.

Morgana raised her head from his chest and stared at him, "Is something wrong? You've been acting strange." She asked.

"Nothing is wrong, I am just tired, don't worry about me." He kissed their intertwined fingers.

"You know you can tell me anything right?" She searched his eyes, hoping to find a clue but there was nothing in his eyes.

  "I know."

The music stopped, bringing the end of their dance. They returned to their seats, Morgana opened her back removed a box and gave it to him.

  "Happy Anniversary." She beamed.

Maxwell opened the box, she got him a watch. "I didn't know what to get for you since you already have everything, I was in a dilemma, but when I saw this watch, I thought of you. How you are always not on time, with this you wouldn't have to be late for our dates, family gatherings and other things."

"Thank you," he placed it at a side, and opened his briefcase, he removed a file and handed it to her.

"What is this?" She asked she was so eager to see what was in the file.

"Open it." The little smile he had on his face had disappeared, he looked serious.

Morgana's smile faltered when she opened the file, her hands couldn't hold the file, they were shaking. Her eyes bulge out, almost falling out of their sockets... "Wh..wh.. what is this Maxwell?" She raised her head, her vision was blurred with unshed tears.

"You are the reason I got drunk that night, You got me drunk just so you could sleep with me and after that, you leaked the information because you knew that my family would ask us to get married just to save our reputation."

Morgana held her chest, her heart was in pain, "Maxwell you know that is a lie. I didn't even know you, we were both drunk, and I was also intoxicated that night... Where did you get that information?"

Maxwell scoffed, he stared at her with no emotions, "Does it matter where I got the information? Sign the bloody divorce papers!" He yelled startling her. This was the first time he had ever raised his voice on her.

"You are going to believe the words of whoever told you that lie against mine? I am your wife, Maxwell, I have lived with you for a year, I didn't expect you to hurt me this way." Her voice dropped.

"Stop all the acting Morgana, you've been caught, I'll settle you with five million dollars, take it and leave my life"...
