28 27: Classes & War
The next day James felt a lot better but was still sore from last night so he laid on his bed a little longer till he started to get restless and annoyed he wasn't doing anything.
After getting up he checked all the notifications from last night that he had ignored and had a few pleasant surprises starting with the quest he had gotten.

James was over the moon at his gains and couldn't help but wag his tail in excitement! After looking over everything again he noticed the Class Evolution Ticket and realized he still hadn't chosen a class and since there's no time like the present he took the time to do that and afterwards would evolve it and see what he gets.

The system then pulled up a new window after a minute of evaluating James' skill set, past experiences, and traits that showed the names, compatibility, and a small picture card of the class.

James immediately had the system get rid of anything under 80% compatibility leaving only: Eldritch Rampager, Lightning Reaver, Ruler of Wrath, Dragon Knight of Storms, and Draconic Sage as the remaining options to choose from.
James didn't get much of a description for each of them as the names only said so much which he found frustrating but from the picture card he could at least infer a few things about each class and James decided to get rid of Lightning Reaver, Ruler of Wrath, and Draconic Sage. This left only Eldritch Rampager and Dragon Knight of Storms which seemed to be the ones closest to his current abilities complimenting and strengthening them. The Eldritch Rampager card had a large humanoid figure with red flamed eyes with an axe in one hand and magic in the other on it, while the Dragon Knight of Storms on the other hand was a heavily armored knight with dragon horns coming from his helm with a lightning imbued blade, sparking eyes, and a dragon with a saddle in the background.
James spent several minutes contemplating this as both were solid choices and would be great but ultimately he chose the Unique class that had the highest compatibility, The Dragon Knight of Storms.

- Dragon Slash: Slash through your enemy with the power of a dragon's claws doing massive damage and cutting through most armor like butter(can be imbued with magic for added damage and effects).
- Dragon Pact: As a Dragon Knight you are well liked by Dragons and species derived from Dragons(Dragonborn, Lizardfolk, Etc.)and you can make pacts with Dragons in the elder tongue that are bound by divine law. It could be a business transaction, duels, vassalage, or the dragon becoming your mount, etc(This skill only applies to yourself and draconic beings).
- Storm Shield: Summon any nearby lightning or the power from a storm to surround you or others in a shield defending you/them from harm, costs 30 Mana to activate.
Passive:
- Draconic Lightning Aura: As a Dragon Knight you exude an aura/pressure similar to that of a dragon but more specifically like a Storm Dragon. This aura can be used in a variety of ways and can be turned into new skills if you discover how. Lesser beings in the evolutionary chain will naturally fear/respect you to an extent depending on what you do.

Lightning Blade: Create a large blade of lightning or channel lightning through an existing weapon to use in battle. Can cauterize wounds if amplified, has a low chance to paralyze upon hit. Costs 15 Mana every 5 minutes.
James loved having new skills and a new spell plus he could tell something in him had changed by obtaining a class. Originally he was gonna use the Class Evolution Ticket right away but now he wanted to mess with this class for a bit before he decided to evolve it. He didn't wanna stunt his growth by taking short term benefits and ignoring the long term benefits of leveling his class and himself like he did for his subordinates.
James wanted to mess with more eof his new rewards but knew he needed to leave his home and check on the village and get his warriors and lieutenants together to decide how to handle the Saurians so he got up and went to leave his hut while taking a glance at his [Status] and after seeing his Free Attribute Points decided to use them all before he left since who knows what will happen today. He put 15 into Strength, 15 into Dexterity, 15 into Intelligence, 5 into Wisdom, 16 into Constitution, and the last 15 into Charisma.

James was brimming with power as his muscles again expanded and contracted condensing his new muscle mass down keeping him the same size but increasing his weight as he became more dense but actually became even faster thanks to his body keeping it's same size and athletic ability but explosively increasing the power within it. His mind felt light and was moving much faster than before giving him more time to strategize, make quick decisions, and allowing him to keep up with his empowered body.
James walked out and asked a passing guard where Grukthar and the others were which the guard seemed excited to be talking to James and gave James directions to where Grukthar and the rest of his lieutenants were at as they had gotten up earlier to handle the day to day things while also getting some of the civilian Dragonborn to reinforce and make repairs to the gate with some guards to protect them including a couple Dragonewts in the air as lookouts.
James then had the guard go tell them he was awake and summoned them to his hut for their next move considering they were just invaded. The guard quickly nodded hitting his fist against his chest in a form of salute before leaving to do as instructed.
Soon after everyone gathered in James' hut at the center of the village and the strategy meeting began as James spoke first, "Obviously we were just invaded last night and by Saurians no less. I understand they are like a cousin species to Lizardmen and come from a more tropical climate, do any of you know why they'd be way out here?"
Xarzak spoke up just before Grukthar did, "All we know is a year ago most of their species migrated out here much closer to us so more than likely they were pushed out or ran out of food but I highly doubt the second one given how many beasts and monsters exist in those jungles and mountains."
Everyone nodded agreeing with her as James gave his orders, "We can attempt to figure that out later but for now they have openly invaded our territory and spilt the blood of our brethren. They have openly declared war on us when we already have an enemy at our back as is and we'll need to snuff them out as fast as we can or at least the tribe responsible. We were already preparing to go to war but now it's time to act. Today we march on the Saurians and just like we planned for the Lizardmen tribes they will either submit or die!!"
Nobody argued this and agreed with James so they merely nodded as James continued, "Grukthar you are my second in command, when I can't you will lead the Dragonborn. Ferzath you are leader of the Dragonewts and will attack from above, attack the flanks of the enemy forces and take out any enemies that are using ranged weapons if you find any but keep yourselves alive. Jorg'ath you're with Grukthar as his second in command when I'm not there. Xarzak you are with me and will stay beside me throughout the battle unless I tell you otherwise, I wanna see what you can do on the battlefield."
Everyone bowed before leaving to prepare and muster their forces for their march. James merely walked around the village checking on their resources and the progress of the farms as well as just looking around and see the smiles upon his people's faces before going back to his hut to wait for his warriors to be ready to leave.
James sat on his matt in the meeting room and looked at the Legendary Bloodline Ticket in his inventory before pulling it out and using it.
