1 Relapse

*Author's note*

I understand not everyone can be patient and tolerant enough to let things flesh out. But I can assure you that this book brings something different. Asides the common theme, the book is unique in its own way. The story is a slow one so if you really want to dive right in, I suggest you read volume 2 ending and the start of volume 3. Otherwise, If you are the type that likes to let things cook, then you might enjoy this story more. I apologize for my writing, it isn't as perfect as it is now going forward. You might encounter a lot of mistakes and inconsistencies, that's the novice me flagging out. Give the novel a chance to surprise you!!*

*******

In a dojo located in a not so developed part of blackwood, standing inside was Mr Zen jackson and his son klaus Dean Jackson.

Klaus with an average frame and just about tall for his age had black hair packed to the back and tied in a typical ponytail fashion. He had sparkling blue pupils and basically was a photocopy of the man in front of him, his father, Mr Zen. Who on the other hand was a bit taller than Klaus and had a huge frame. He too had dark hair but he allowed it fall to his neck instead. He had blue eyes and the perfect face a man could ask for.

The older man dressed in an all black attire (Gi) designed basically for the very purpose they were in the dojo stood over Klaus who was laying on the ground wincing in pain.

"Up!!" Mr Zen commanded. And in such short time Klaus was back on his feet and moved back a distance from his father. The dojo was predominantly plain in terms of it's theme which was brown. There wasn't much put into it other than the wooden floor it had which was distinctive considering the age and time. At the far end of the room, there was a shelve that held doll weapons completely made from wood but looked like their actual real counterparts which could cause more significant damage as compared to them. They were all there for training purposes but given their state as it looked like a spider had made the shelve its home, it didn't look like they were really being put to that much use.

There were several other doors in the dojo. But Mr Zen and Klaus remained primarily in the large open space with a wooden floor. Reason was best known to the older one amongst them, Mr Zen.

He was dressed similarly as his father although he wore a white attire rather than black. Now the two figures in the dojo stood observing each other in silence. Klaus on one hand was indecisive. He wasn't sure if he should go in on the attack. And at the same time, standing around was not going to do him any good, he thought. So he had picked one out of the two options available and in a moments notice, he was off.

"Hiarr!!" A sound escaped Klaus's mouth as he charged towards his father. With his hands wrapped in a white tape, he drew his right hand back which was folded into a fist aiming for Mr Zen. But before he could get close enough, Mr Zen raised his left foot up and slammed it down with force resulting in a loud bang echoing from the wooden floor.

*Bang!!*

Then quickly following this action up, Zen threw out a punch aiming at Klaus who was still at least two meters away from the older man, it certainly looked like the punch was untimed or perhaps it was a feint blow in attempt to throw off Klaus. But if it was the latter, in which case Mr Zen was attempting to distract Klaus, then it had ultimately failed as Klaus kept heading towards his father undeterred even after seeing the punch.

*swoosh*

What followed after the sound was Klaus's body being sent back to the ground. This came as a surprise to him as he was sure he wasn't even close enough yet alone had he come in contact with his father's fist for the result to be this way. The attack was invisible yet it's impact wasn't. His stomach region hurt the most as it felt like he had received a stab there.

"That is enough for today," Mr Zen said and turned around heading for the exit.

"I.... I can keep going," Klaus said as he got back up straightening his training attire. He was all too used to having to get up by now. This wasn't the first time he had been knocked down during their training section. It had been happening since he was four when his father first allowed him into the dojo. The day his life completely turned around. Now he would soon be sixteen and nothing had changed.

"You have done well in convincing me, now convince your mind you want to too," Mr Zen said without looking back.He paused before exiting the dojo and said....

"The way of the fist isn't all about the fist. You need to let your mind do the fighting and not just your fist,". He left the dojo after saying this, leaving Klaus to clean up.

"Hey Kay..." A girl said walking in with long black hair flowing down all the way to her waist. This was Arsha, Klaus's best friend and only friend. She had dark eyes that one could get lost in if they looked for long. She walked in on Klaus holding a broom as well. Apparently Mr Zen had told her Klaus was cleaning on her way in.

"Hey Ash.." he said with his head bent down and his voice lowered in defeat. Be tried hard to give away what had happened but it didn't matter too much because Arsha could tell from his demeanour alone,"

"I see you've gotten your butt served...AGAIN" she said with a little chuckle at the end trying to emphasize how much of a repeated occurrence it had become.

"Yeah no kidding, no matter how hard I try, It just seems impossible to...to beat that man," Klaus said.

"He's Mr Zen!....the great 'Shiro senshi' if you could beat him then that just means you can take on the entire city of Blackwood," she said and to this they both laughed seeing the joke Arsha was trying to make. He understood his father was strong but to the point Arsha and probably everyone else in the settlement saw him, that he didn't buy into.

"I have been training since I was like, I don't know...four?!!!" Klaus said trying to make a point.

"That's like how long?...twelve years huh?. That "man" has been training since before you were born. Face it.. You are good...just not there yet. And I know you will one day," Arsha said with her hands on Klaus's head, ruffling his hair. But in between, Klaus could see she was trying so hard not to laugh.

"You are right..I bet I could beat anyone else as long as it's not dad" Klaus said but upon hearing this, Arsha nodded her head in a certain way that didn't look like she totally agreed with what Klaus had just said and realizing this himself, Klaus and her began to play fight. Klaus eventually fell to the ground though, allowing her get away with the pin. After that, they both grabbed their brooms and began to sweep the dojo.

They both dragged on with the cleaning and after a while dropped the brooms. Of course there were machines that were capable of doing jobs like this effortlessly. But klaus believed his father didn't get any of those as he believed in good old discipline and hard work to get the job done.

"Come on, let's go up..mum should be done cooking by now. I'm starving.." Klaus said with enthusiasm as he led the way out. With that, they both left the dojo to the main house.

======

"Mom, you promised to teach me your recipe for this right?" Klaus asked with a bright smile. To this she gave him back the smile with her beautiful long blonde hair and white skin that looked angelic and to top it off was her golden brown pupils. Indeed she was a work of art.

The older woman made her way from the kitchen area which was the only place in the house that had a different feel to it as it was coloured blue. She made her way to the table where Klaus and his best friend Arsha sat alongside his father, Zen.

"Of course, sweetheart," she said in response to Klaus's request as she walked closer to him and gave him a peck on the forehead.

He could feel his face redden up as he spotted Arsha trying to hide her laugh but clearly she was just that bad as the sounds escaped the covering from her right palm.

"Hey dad, can I and Arsha go out to the field?" Klaus asked.

"Why?" Mr Zen asked not even looking at them. He was still eating his food. Although it looked like he wasn't interested in eating and would rather be found doing something else. He chewed very slowly like he was trying not to hurt the food in his mouth.

"I was just going to spar with her. She needs some practice and I could use one as well," Klaus replied.

"That's fine, you can use the dojo," Mr Zen said still not looking at Klaus even for once.

"Oh I know that, its just that I was thinking, being in an enclosed space doing battle wouldn't always be the case" Klaus said to his father. And for a moment then silence prevailed and Klaus could hear his heart beating faster than ever. His father then raised his head from his plate and looked at Klaus dead in the eye. This was one of those moments he wished he was born by some other persons.

"Sure, you make a good point. Just don't stray too far. And be back before the sun sets," Mr Zen cautioned. Hearing this Klaus heaved a sigh of relief and bent his head down as a sign of respect to his father before leaving with Arsha.

"You would think he is picking up a bit of his old man's trait huh?" Mrs Angie said with a chuckle as she watched both teenagers depart from the house. Mr Zen in response to his wife's statement simply nodded.

"Their gene awakening test and Blackwood entrance examination is just a week from now, do you think he would understand why he can't go just yet?" Mrs Angie, Klaus's mother asked her husband Mr Zen as she wore a worried look on her face.

"I'm sure he would, he is a good boy. Besides, If you're worried about them finding him, then it'll be a long time before they do.The seal on him is a strong one. There's nothing to be worried about," Zen said.

But just immediately he said this, his eyes popped wide open, he turned his head to the door way and he could feel a slight tingle on his skin.

"No!!.." Mr Zen muttered....
