Demoted

Kate arrived at her home but she found nothing but broken bricks on the floor. Kate folded her lip preventing herself from tearing up.

"Evelyn?" Kate immediately brought out her phone and dialed her number.

"Kate?" Evelyn said at the other end

"Are you okay?" Kate immediately asked her.

"I'm fine, Kate.....Y..your house"

"I know, Evelyn. I just want to know if you are alright" Kate said.

"I am. I'm with your stuffs. I begged the contractors to stop, so I packed your things. They are here in my home" Evelyn said and kate heaved a sigh of relief.

"You are the best, Evie. I will call you back" Kate said and immediately boarded a Cab to take her back to work.

Kate's mind was filled with anxiety, anguish and anger. She couldn't take this punishment the world was giving her. Ever since her child birth, she had never experienced affection from anyone. Kate lived a life believing that love wasn't necessary at all in anyone's live. The only person she ever cared for was her bestie, Evelyn. Her employees, she never treated them kindly because they could likely betray anyone at anytime. She just lived a rogue life. She never wanted to know anyone's prospective about her. She lived an 'I don't care' life.

The cab stopped at the company and Kate went down from the cab. She paid the man and left to the company. The first person her eyes met was, Mr Alexander. It was as if, he was waiting for her arrival.

"Finally, you are back" He said loudly and all the staffs head turned around. Their eyes were fixed on Kate.

"Why? Were you waiting for me?" Kate said casually. Mr Alexander sneered.

"How rude! I made myself clear that I don't want you" Alexander tucked his hand in his pocket as he walked closer to her.

Kate's eye didn't leave him for a second. She felt like stabbing him. This was her first time having a conversation with a guy for this long for a day.

"I can't leave, Mr Alexander. I have my shares in this company and secondly, my home was demolished by you. I can't leave"Kate remained adamant as her gaze on him became more intense.

"Can't you sell your shares?" The man bent closer to Kate. Kate scoffed.

"Never! I've been working here for years for the improvement of this company. I can't just shatter my hard work because of a scum like you. Never!" Kate savagely said. Alexander grinned evilly.

"My patience is reaching it's limit, Miss Kate. I will make this company a burning hell for you. Watch out!!" Mr Alexander said as he turned to leave.

"I can't wait to experience what hell feels like.....the secretary post is vacant. I would love to be your secretary" Kate scoffed and she walked away. She headed to the Secretary's office.

Yesterday, she was ruling the company. Everybody gave her respect and address her properly. Overnight, this annoying scumbag came and shattered her dreams. She wasn't going to let him go free. Never!!

After the departure of Kate and Alexander, the employees gathered their heads together for a gossip.

"Miss Kate pride still hasn't left her after being demoted." Helen said and other employees hummed.

"She is always puffed up with pride. I hate her so much and I'm glad that we have a new CEO" Another employee said.

"But I heard that this man isn't a good man. They are many mysterious talks about him" Karen said and the other employees murmured.

"It might just be a lie to make people hate him. The man is just so devishily handsome to be wicked and stern" Eva grinned and the other employees smiled.

"His beauty was the first thing I fell for but I dare not approach him. I get this cold chilling whenever I walk pass him." Another employee complained and then someone cleared his throat hawkishly.

They all turned around and they saw a man standing in front of them. Their eyes were opened wide as they couldn't utter a word.

"You guys are busy gossiping instead of working." Zamiel said nicely as the employees grinned.

"Stop smiling and get to work" Zamiel said casually and left their presence.

"Who's he?" Eva sked Helen. Helen raised a brow and then she answered.

"I don't know and what do you call me? A news entertainer?" Helen frowned as she replied Eva. Eva hissed as she went to her cabin to continue her work.

Zamiel went to Alex's office, he met th crazy tycoon busy on his system. Zamiel walked up to me submitting some files on his table.

"Are you through with your requests that I promised you yesterday?" Zamiel curved his lip as he stared at the serious Alexander.

"Thanks!" Alex said without throwing him a glance. Zamiel frowned and he closed the laptop he was busy on. Alex threw him a hard glare but Zamiel remained unfazed.

"That's not the way to say a proper "thanks"." Zamiel smirked.

"I'm busy now Zamiel, I don't have time for you" Alexander pushed his hands off his laptop. He opened the laptop and continue his work

"How bout Miss Kate? Is she back?" Zamiel neglected him. He brought out a topic that would make Alexander blow up. He doesn't know why Alex hated the girl but he knows that there was something behind his actions towards her. He was willing to find out.

Alexander eyes glazed with red light as he stare at Zamiel.

"Why don't you go around and search for her is she has returned?" Alex smirked. His attention went back on the laptop. Zamiel studied his body movements but he didn't get any clue.
