3 First Delivery

Despite the gateway looking dark from the outside, the inside was surprisingly bright, as he rode his scooter moving toward his destination.

He couldn't help but look around, it's like he's in space, but with his scooter instead of a rocket ship.

Normally he wouldn't be able to breathe, but thanks to the system, he was able to avoid suffocation.

It wouldn't be a pretty sight, either way it didn't take long for him to see the end of the gateway tunnel.

The end tunnel was so bright that he had to close his eyes before he rode his scooter forward.

Then as soon as he opened his eyes, the first thing he thought was.

'It's like I traveled into the future.' If he didn't know any better, he would have thought he went to the future, but he knew that this is a parallel world.

Either way, from the buildings alone he knew that he's in the 2000's or maybe 2010's.

Now that he's here, he had to deliver this to-

'Wait, where would I deliver this?!' He realized, while he had arrived at the world where he would deliver this cardboard box, he didn't know where this customer lived!

As he was about to ask Eve, suddenly he noticed at the corner of his eye, there's a mini-map where there's a location marker similar to google maps in his previous life.

"Ah, here it is." With that, he didn't hesitate anymore and went toward the marked location.

It wasn't too far from the place where he arrived, although he wondered why Eve directly put him near the customer's house or something.

However, he certainly wasn't complaining, either way it took him 30 minutes, after having twists and turns, he was now in the house- well, apartment specifically of the customer.

He parked his scooter in the parkway, took the cardboard box that was tied into the scooter and carried it, and went toward the apartment room where his customer lived.

Hiru was quite thankful for the fact that the apartment has an elevator or else it would be a hassle to carry it using stairs since his customer lives on the upper floor of the apartment complex.

As he went inside the elevator, to his surprise there was already a person Inside, it was a man wearing a black hoodie, while holding a banquet of flowers.

'Is he going to give that flower to his girlfriend or something..?' He couldn't help but think as he looked at the guy.

Although, it may be his imagination or something, but this dude seemed to be hiding his face away from him or something…

By the way, this looked really familiar to Hiru for some reason, but he couldn't remember clearly.

Maybe it's just him overthinking.

It didn't take long for the elevator to arrive at the desired floor, to his surprise the guy in the hoodie destination was on this floor.

The hoodie guy looked like he was in a hurry so, Hiru made a way, unlike the hoodie guy he wasn't in a hurry.

Still thought, how large is this apartment complex anyway?

It took him a few minutes to arrive at his destination, since the cardboard box was quite heavy, he wondered what's inside this box.

As curious as he is, there's no way he'd open it, after all it's grossly unprofessional, either way it's not like this order mattered to him anyway, he just wanted to finish this order so that he could try using that gacha machine.

It may be his greed talking, but you can't blame him, anyone with a working brain would be excited of what you're going to get in that gacha machine.

Since it's supernatural after all, he might get an ability or some sort of power without contracting a devil.

Contracting a devil is risky as there's an exchange, he wasn't willing to lose an arm or two, there's no way he'd willingly cripple himself.

Unless he wanted to be a Devil Hunter, which he wouldn't because its death rate is so high that he'd be guaranteed to die if he's not skilled or crazy enough for the job.

As was a few steps away from the room, he paused as he saw the guy in a hoodie standing at the room where he was supposed to be delivering the cardboard box he was holding.

Seeing the scene in front of him, a memory from a long time ago became clear as a day.

No wonder it felt familiar, no wonder he felt like there's something wrong with the hoodie guy.

Without hesitation he dropped the box into the ground as soon as he saw the hoodie guy reveal the hidden knife that was inside the flowers.

As he was about to stab his victim, the woman who he just realized was his customer.

Ai Hoshino.

There's no doubt she's that character from that particular series!

Hiru nearly failed, but thank the gods he managed to reach on time, as he literally jumped a few feet away, kicking the face of the future murderer of Ai Hoshino.

Eventually saving Ai Hoshino.

Bang!

The stalker dropped into the ground, stunned as he didn't expect any interference.

Normally Hiru wouldn't dare to do this, as he wouldn't want to risk dying especially when he still has to take care of his sister until she can live on her own.

But since, he's being protected by the system since he's technically on a delivery service right now.

Which means he's almost immune to any physical attack.

Not to mention, he wouldn't be able to deliver this package if the customer is dead, it would also be bad for his reputation if his customer were to die when it's easily preventable.

It didn't take a long time for the stalker to regain his bearings and immediately he stood up and ignored everything aside from stabbing him as he's the one who stopped his goal from killing Ai.

With a furious scream, the stalker tried to stab Hiru in his abdomen, but he managed to stop the blade using his bare hands.

Ai who was in the background screamed in panic not knowing what to do, she was too scared to act.

If the stalker was thinking clearly, he would have noticed that Hiru's arm wasn't bleeding even though he was grabbing the sharp edges of the knife.

But he was too crazy thinking about succeeding into stabbing Hiru in his stomach.

'Crap, this guy is way stronger than I thought!' Hiru thought as his arms were trembling attempting to stop the knife from being pushed into his stomach.

Then a realization came, as he noticed that the knife didn't damn his hands at all, even though he's gripping the sharp edges tightly as he could.

'So, it's real that I'm immune to most physical attacks.' He was honestly relieved to find out that it's real.

With that, he decided to let go of the knife that he was holding, surprising the stalker for a bit, but since he was giving a chance he didn't even hesitate to stab with all of his might toward Hiru's abdomen.

With a crazy smile, he thought he succeeded in killing this interloper who stopped him from killing the cheater Ai Hoshino.

But his smile froze as he felt like his knife didn't stab a soft skin of the human flesh, but instead it felt like he stabbed a wall of steel instead of a meatbag.

'What the hell-' The stalker couldn't finish his thoughts as a knuckle hit his jaw hard, which immediately made him blackout.

Hiru stared at the stalker, he was honestly a bit nervous of that move, honestly exposing his abdomen to a sharp object wasn't really his brightest idea, but in this situation as he hardly had any options as he couldn't overpowered that crazy bastard in physical strength.

It wasn't like he was weaker than the stalker, it's just the guy is so crazy that he temporarily broke his physical limits so that he could stab him.

At that state the stalker is like someone on steroids, feeling invincible, but not really.

This situation made him think of something. 'Maybe I should train self-defense after this, because I have a feeling that a similar situation would bound to happen in the future.'

Hiru's attention was now on the person he saved, Ai Hoshino, who was still in shock, deciding to make her snap out of it.

"Are you going to call the cops or are you going to wait for this man to wake up and try to kill us again?"

With that, Ai effectively brought back to reality and quickly made a call with her phone.

An hour later,

Police cars arrived beneath the apartment complex, the police were quick to detain the stalker of Ai.

After asking a few questions and getting an answer from Hiru and Ai, the police went on their way to the police station with Ai's still unconscious stalker with them.

"Thank you!" Ai bowed at her savior.

Hiru shook his head and replied. "It's not a problem and you already thanked me multiple times already, once or twice is enough."

He remembers Ai thanking him multiple times already, along with her twins, although she didn't mention that they were hers, she only told him that they were her cousins.

But unaware that Hiru knew everything, however he didn't say anything and thought of him as unaware of her 'secret'.

"Anyway, I'm here for your delivery." Hiru carried the cardboard box from the ground and gave it to Ai.

"Oh- wow, it's heavy…and wait you're a delivery guy?!" Ai gasped in surprise.

Hiru looked at her and realized that it was a genuine surprise and not a well practiced one.

He nodded. "Yeah, you ordered something from the 'company' I worked for so I delivered, it might be fate that I arrived at the exact time, before that guy could..you know.."

Remembering that critical moment, Ai trembled for a bit, but quickly acted cheerfully with a perfect happy smile.

"It was really close, you know!"

If this was any other situation, he would have thought of it as cute, but right now? It looks eerie.

Because Hiru knew it's fake, if he didn't know he would have been tricked into believing that it's true.

"Please, stop smiling like that, it's disturbing especially in this situation." He decided to be blunt.

Ai flinched and looked surprised. "Is that so…?"

She muttered by herself.

"Either way, my job here is done, so goodbye I think?" Hiru wasn't sure if this will be the last they will meet, since there's no rule about ordering twice.

As he was about to leave, suddenly Ai shouted. "Wait!"

He looked back at her and questioned. "Yes..?"

"Please tell me your phone number!"

Hiru was stunned, he tried to open his mouth and closed it back again and thought. 'Is it even possible for her to call me anyway? We're literally universes apart from each other…'

He wasn't dense, he knew that Ai was interested in knowing him, not romantically of course, but a passing curiosity about her savior.

Conveniently Eve spoke.

[ You could give her your number, she would be able to reach you thanks to me, in fact I courage you to have a friendly relationship with your customers because who knows they might order something again. ]

Hiru's last defenses crumbled and quickly gave her, his number and after that he left.
