4 What Is That!?

With Rosa and Tony jumping into the room Baladan watched silently. He was waiting for the moment they were pulled further away as the knife wielding red head and the slightly injured Tony ran around the tables making it difficult for the dead to catch them.

Immediately Baladan ran towards the axe, the sudden movement made two of the Shadow Corpses turn to look at the figure before they just turned back to look at Tony.

Baladan couldn't help but mentally slap himself after seeing this.

Bal: 'How could I be such an idiot!? I took the time to read the whole system while I was in Shoel and yet I forgot one of the main features about my fucking title! I put them in danger for no reason!'

Due to this mistake he vowed to make sure both of them survive this. He didn't even go around the tables no, instead he jumped onto them! He wasn't going to let anything get in his way, he jumped across tables landing on them safely before reaching the fire axe.

He immediately used his elbow that was still covered by his sleeve to smash into the case sending pieces of glass out onto the floor leaving Baladan unharmed. He reached in grabbing the axe before turning to see the situation.

Tony and Rosa was doing good for the moment, each had two on them. With his experience seeing Rosa fight he immediately ran towards Tony.

Bal: "Rosa make sure you don't get hurt! I'll take care of the ones on Tony first then I'll come back to assist you! Don't you dare die!"

He yelled out to her as she slid across a table planting a powerful kick into the back of a Shadow Corpse. This kick forced it to fall over directly smacking against the table, before the other could turn to face him Baladan swung the axe with all his strength into the side of the one still standings head.

The skull got sliced into stopping at the center of the creatures head. With Baladan's foot he immediately kicked the creature away while pulling the axe out.

At the same moment the green energy left the corpses body before flying to Baladan.

He didn't have much time to look at the notifications as he rushed over to see the Shadow Corpse standing up before reaching out for Baladan!

He knew for certain he didn't want to be grabbed by such a strong entity. With his stats as they are it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that 10 was the peak for a normal human being. Of course body builders and people who actively work out could have higher scores but a normal person's max was 10.

With just one hit before Baladan felt like he had just taken the swing from a sledgehammer on the side of his arm. If he didn't pull back during the hit only being hit slightly his arm would have broken the moment their skin touched.

Baladan took a step back pulling his arms away from the Shadow Corpses hands just to send a kick at its legs knocking it down once more.

Bal: 'Man… these guys are like glass canons… you let them touch you even a little and it could be the end of you in seconds'

With the opening made from the fall he jumped on it with the axe. He just started swinging over and over again, he wasn't the most accurate with the axe but it got the job done. Blood went flying around him as he sat on the Shadow Corpses back hacking at its back and head until it went limp on the ground.

[Congratulations! You have leveled up! Please choose your ability out of these options!]

With the new level Baladan regained his stamina, with a grin on his face he points Tony to the door before rushing off to help Rosa.

At this point the Shadow Corpses were no longer ignoring him. While one was speeding up a little bit getting closer to Rosa the other stopped and suddenly lunged over the table at Baladan! It almost didn't seem real at first, the slow moving shadow beings who barely moved had just completely jumped over the table!

Unfortunately Baladan couldn't avoid the sudden action, the only thing he could do was lift the axe to stab into the creatures chest the moment it came falling on top of him.

At that moment his life flashed before his eyes, the thought of death filled him. He always thought that death was natural and when it came it would be swift and peaceful.

This was anything but that! He had a undead creature on top of him, with strength he couldn't hope to compete against right now! He was scared shitless! How could he not be?

That was until a flash of light accompanied by a sudden spike in heat enveloped the creatures head burning a hole through the center of its skull.

Rosa had used her ability! It was called Flame Control. With her power she shot an arrow of flames directly through the creatures skull hoping and praying she wasn't to late.

Rosa: "BALADAN! ARE YOU OK! PLEASE TELL ME YOU ARE OK!"

She completely disregarded the monster shuffling faster towards her. She immediately ran to Baladan jumping the table giving Baladan a view he didn't think he would be seeing after his life was just saved.

He was looking at the ceiling only to see Rosa jump over him giving him full view of her red silk panties. His face immediately turned red just like her underwear as he looked away.

Once she landed and stepped to the side he started to stand up. His face looking away from Rosa before focusing on the Shadow Corpse.

Bal: "L-Let's just take this one out quickly! Ok! I'm fine don't worry about all that it didn't even get me"

With the death of 3 Shadow Corpses close by his Death Energy had increased by 30. He still had no idea what it could be used for but seeing how these creatures are only using 10 points of it to be this strong then it must be amazing!

Baladan didn't know the feeling he was going through, until now he wasn't really afraid of a couple extremely slow creatures that can die just with a stab to the brain. At the moment he was grabbed he truly felt the fear of death, that feeling of being helpless and at the mercy of someone else.

It made him remember a lot of bad things but for some reason, he was smiling. His body wasn't taken over with fear, the event just made him remember the terror death brings. No he was shaking with excitement! He didn't understand it himself, the thrill of dancing with death and making it out alive.

His whole body had goosebumps, he was so filled with adrenaline and energy he could hardly contain himself! A sudden thought popped at that moment, the axe in his hands was pulled up over his shoulder before swinging it down throwing it to hit the bastard straight in the upper chest right against the bottom of his neck.

At this point the once purple eyes filled with a tint of green. The energy flowed out the corner of his eyes while looking at the creature.

His vision changed, instead of the normal view he could see the world in grey. The only color other then the lifeless grey was a steady flow of green energy surrounding the undead. With the Shadow Corpse right in front of him it was like it suddenly started glowing in a bright green light.

He was a little surprised by this but what really shocked him wasn't the change in his sight but what he was seeing. When he saw Rosa getting ready to attack he left it to her to take care of. When he looked into the kitchen what he saw was a large blob of Death Energy heading for the door into the cafeteria from the kitchen.

Bal: 'What is that!?'

Rosa made quick work of the undead she even pulled out the axe for him! With the Death Energy flowing through the air into his body he knew the job was done, at least until something else comes.

The door opened, a large fat man came slowly walking out. This fat man was turned into a Shadow Corpse but it was definitely different then the normal ones. This creature was followed by a pungent smell making Rosa back up away from it.

Baladan on the other hand couldn't smell anything bad. With his level of Death Energy and affinity to it the abilities of most undead seem to have no effect on him. Of course he isn't going to go out and get bitten to make sure, but he could only assume it was because Baladan had more Death Energy then the fat blob.

Bal: "Rose how many more times can you use that fire thing you did before?"

Rosa: "If it's for you I can do it as many times as you need!"

She accidentally let her true thoughts come out making her very embarrassed. It was hard to believe she was standing in front of a new form of undead but she was still only thinking about what Baladan wants or needs.

Bal: "I'll pretend I didn't hear that… just fire at its arms for now. If we can get rid of those we can fight freely"

Rosa: "Ok! I'll try my best!"

She immediately tried to do the same thing as before, her tongue sticking out a little as she concentrated. Honestly the last time she did it was out of desperation as she suddenly threw the thing to save Baladan at all costs!

Now that she was focusing on trying to do it again all she could do was follow the instructions the system gave her.

Rosa: "Oh flame of destruction please hear my call. Become an arrow that soars through the sky and destroys my enemies! Flame Arrow!"

The moment her chant was complete a fire appeared on her hand with a magic circle underneath. With her other hand hovering over the flame another circle formed compressing the fire into an arrow before launching at the arm of the creature.

The arrow was quick! It was just as fast if not faster then an expert archer firing an arrow at a target. It's unfortunate that the moment the arrow got close the fat blob opened its mouth wide before sucking in hard directly consuming the mana in the arrow.

This made both Baladan and Rosa stop and look at the creature, they had expected at least the undead to hit it away or something. Not completely eat the thing!

Bal: 'H-How do I defeat it now… I'll have to think of something quick! I don't want this bastard getting any funny ideas like trying to eat me like that!'

He couldn't help but sigh looking at the blob slowly waddling it's way over to them. He didn't know if he should laugh or cry at the scene of a fat ass undead making its way to tear him apart.

Bal: 'How about… instead of sitting here doing nothing and waiting I check that ability thing?'

Instantly a screen opened up as he casually walks away from the creature. His back was never turned towards it but he just took a couple steps while finally looking through his system.

Bal: 'Now let's see…'
