106 Let’s Talk About Compensation, Shall We?

"You are pretty bold to talk to one of us like that. There aren't many who can talk so freely in front of us four.

I am pretty interested, where do you get that confidence from?

Don't tell me you rely on your husband to have your back." Maxen, the Sect Leader of Heavenly Phoenix Sect sneered.

"I do." Maeve replied with a smile as she looked deep into his eyes.

"Oh? You really trust him too much, don't you? Pretty naïve for someone who was talking like she owns the world a few minutes later.

Listen, little girl, Elder Ace may try to take revenge if someone harms you, but if he is as smart as I think him to be, he won't bother retaliating once you are dead. Especially if the culprit is someone with significant power and status. He would hold some grudges, yes, but that isn't something a little compensation can't solve.

So I advise you that you watch your ton-"

"He is not." Maeve replied cutting him in between his sentence.

"What?"

"He is not.

My husband,

He is not as smart as you think he is, actually, he might even be a little foolish." Maeve replied, shocking everyone present. Even Sect Leader Fianna's attention was gained by these words. Maeve ignored them all and clapped her hands.

Around 50 disciples then entered the courtyard, dragging the burnt bodies of the masked men who attacked yesterday. The disciples left as soon as they came while the Sect Leaders of Heavenly Phoenix Sect, Holy Dragon Sect, and Vicious Snake Sect had a frown on their faces. Maeve, on the other hand just smiled and continued.

"He is foolish enough to go against anyone who attacks his family without the care of his own life. He doesn't care about tactics or whatever.

He is a simple, foolish man.

You hurt his family, and he will make sure that you are ruined beyond recognition, just like them." She finished and pointed towards the dead bodies.

"Are you threatening us?" Denim, Sect Master of Vicious Snake Sect questioned with a solemn look on his face.

"Hmm? Of course not. The one I called foolish is him, not you. I merely wanted to tell Mr. Maxen that I indeed rely on my husband to have my back and fully deserve to be here, without worrying about the consequences."

Sect Leader Fianna arched her eyebrows as she heard those words.

"'The one I called foolish is him, not you.' That's pretty bold. Are you implying that we should fear your husband and let you say whatever disrespectful words you want to say to us without retaliating?

Though I know that Elder Ace is pretty capable and might be as strong as us four but do you really think he would go against us four at the same time just because of you? No, even if he does, do you really believe that he could defeat us." Sect Leader Haste snapped.

"The three of you. Please do not include me in all this. I am but an amused spectator" Sect Leader Fianna added with a smile.

"You…" Sect Leader Haste wanted to retaliate but ended up swallowing his words.

Maeve glanced at Sect Leader Haste and smiled,

"As I said, he is foolish, he would do whatever it takes to harm anyone who hurt his family, even if that takes his own life.

Sure, he might not be able to defeat you fo-"

"Three"

"Yes, I apologize.

Sure, he might not be able to defeat you three, but I know for sure that has what it takes to severely damage you all. I am sure you all understand what will happen once he succeeds in doing that."

Maeve's reply took Set Leader Haste aback, he paused for a moment before he turned towards Sect Leader Denim and Maxen and found them looking back at him. The three then turned towards Sect Leader Fianna who had her eyes closed, as if completely unaware of their gazes.

Then their gazes fell on Maeve who was still looking into their eyes with an enchanting smile. Though they didn't notice earlier, her icy blue eyes looked especially hypnotic.

'This woman… she's not as simple as she looks…'

She was right, Elder Ace is strong enough to destroy all three of them If he really wants.

He just had to weaken them and the rest could be done by others.

Of course, it wasn't the small or medium sect leaders they should be vary about, but each other.

Yes, once they are weakened, the most they should be vary about is Sect Leader Fianna who is in perfect health and themselves.

Right now, the 4 Sects have a mutual peace pact and don't attack each other, but that's only because the 4 sect leaders have similar strength but once Ace injures them, even they team up and take out Fianna first, they would have to be vary of each other. Anyone who recovers first would attack the other two while the other two would most probably try to deal with him.

In a tense environment like that, it isn't impossible for all of them and their respective Sects to be destroyed and the lower level sects taking charge.

If this woman has thought that far, then she is a frightening individual.

The more they looked at that enchanting smile on her face, the more dread the 'all-powerful leaders' felt. In the end, they were forced to accept that she has what it takes to be here and act like an equal to them.

As if hearing their thoughts, Maeve continued.

"Alright, now that we are on the same page, let's talk about compensation, shall we?"
