"Sergeant Kane…"

As Ace left, Elizabeth called out.

"What do you want?" Sergeant Kane replied coldly, his past amiable look was long gone.

"Let me start by introducing myself, I am Elizabeth Grimore from the Royal Academy" Elizabeth replied, though her tone was polite, there was a bit of contempt hidden in it. Obviously, she didn't put a mere Sergeant in her eyes.

"Ah, so you are from the Royal Academy, that answers to how your movements are so refined, please forgive me for my previous misconduct" Sergeant Kane's tone changed again, gardening a bit of mockery from the people around.

"I am Sergeant Kane from the Enactment Union, how can I help you, Miss Elizabeth?"

Without answering, Elizabeth walked away from the crowd, Sergeant Kane understood her intention and followed behind her.

After walking a fair amount of distance, Elizabeth turned around and spoke.

"I wanted to ask you about something…"

Sergeant Kane noticed her gaze that was looking at Ace before smiling bitterly, "Is it about Elder Ace?" he guessed.

A surprised expression appeared on her face before she blushed a little and nodded. Sergeant Kane chuckled before sighing, "Haahh~ Well, I can only blame Elder Ace for being so attractive. I do admit that he is better than most of the men I met in my entire life, it is normal for even someone like you to fall for him.

But before you indulge in any fantasies of yours, Miss Elizabeth, let me tell you, though I don't know Elder Ace very well, I can tell you that for the last 8 years, I have never seen him with any other girl other than Mrs. Maeve beside him"

"What!? 8 Years!?" Elizabeth questioned in surprise.

"Mhm, as weird as it may sound, it is rumored that Elder Ace doesn't have a single concubine or wife beside Mrs. Maeve. To be honest, for someone like him, wooing a girl is as simple as smiling at her but he has never done it for some reason. Also, It's not like other girls never tried, but the man simply ignored every single one of them" Sergeant Kane replied with a hint of jealousy and admiration in his eyes as he glanced at Ace.

"That's really unfortunat- No wait! I am not asking about him because I fell for him or something like that! I have other reasons! Please don't misunderstand!" Elizabeth quickly explained herself when she realized what she was talking about.

'Haa… saying that with a red face and flustered look doesn't really help, you know?' Sergeant Kane sighed but decided not to go against a love-struck girl.

"Don't sigh like that in front of me! As I said, I am not asking you all this because I like him or something! I just want to know more about him!"

'You won't try so hard to clear yourself if that was the case...' Sergeant Kane thought, but of course, didn't say that out loud.

"Yeah… of course, sure" Sergeant nodded.

"You… Don't act like that! I don't like him! You get it!?"

"I do, I get it, Miss Elizabeth, please continue, what do you want me to tell you? If I can, I will definitely answer you"

"I want to know about his background, do you have any clues about that?" Elizabeth questioned.

"Hmm… his background huh… I am sorry Miss Elizabeth, I can't help you with that. Though I know about him for 8 years, I have never heard anything about his background.

He just appeared out of random with his wife and daughter and joined a random sect. If you go by this then the only backing he has is that average Inferno Sword Sect, but if I am being honest, then rather than they being his backing, it is more accurate to say that he alone is that sect's backing" Sergeant Kane replied.

"What? A single man is backing of a whole sect? How is that possible?"

"Well, he is just that strong, I don't know if it is true or not, but it is rumored that he should be a 12th layer fire mage"

"What!? 12 Layer!? At his age? He shouldn't be much older than me, how is that even possible?"

"As I said, I don't know if it is true or not but that guy defeated an Elder from Gracious Flower Sect 8 years ago, and that match was completely one-sided. Though I didn't witness that match personally, it is said that he didn't use a single chant in the entire match. Every spell he used was done via 'Silent Incantation'"

'Every single spell? I can only use Silent incantation on basic spells… How terrifying he exactly is?'

"Umm… Sergeant Kane… what about his wife? How strong is she?" Elizabeth questioned as she glanced at Maeve.

"Err? Mrs. Maeve? Well, I have never seen her doing any magic. Other than being an exceptional Swordswoman, I don't think she is very special… of course, she is exceptionally beautiful, no one can deny that." Sergeant Kane replied as he glanced at Maeve and no matter how well he tried to hide, Elizabeth didn't fail to notice that slight blush on his face.

'A swordswoman? Heh! I don't believe that is it. There must be more to that Maeve than she shows. Or else how could she monopolize Mr. Ace for her and her alone? I don't think I will get any useful information out of him...'

"Thank you, Sergeant Kane, for all the help. If you someday visit the Royal City, don't forget to visit the Royal academy. I will receive you personally." Elizabeth said with a courteous bow.

"I will keep that in mind, Miss Elizabeth" Sergeant Kane nodded before leaving the beach, followed by Cilia and other officers.

Seeing those leaving figures, Elizabeth's friends and Antony's group walked towards Elizabeth.

"So, what are we doing now?" Elizabeth's friend questioned.

"I am tired… let's just go back…" Elizabeth sighed while she glanced at Ace and his family.

"Alright…"

Seeing them leaving, Antony and others glanced at each other, "So, what are we doing?"

"Hmm? Well, there's a sunset to watch but I don't think it's anything good unless we have a girl in our hand, let's just leave" Astut replied and others laughed before nodding.
