110 I-I Will Kill You!

"Hahaha! Did you hear that, Mrs. Vorste!? It was Senior Guard Hem! How could you connect him to me!? I never even knew that a person with that name existed! How could I ever be mixed with all this!?"

Elder Ario laughed out loud, some elders nodded while some sighed in relief.

Maeve, on the other hand, completely ignored his outburst and clapped 2 times.

2 disciples entered the room with a well-built man, no prize to whoever guessed it, it was Senior Guard Hem. What should be noted though was that Hem's face was swollen, there was a big, round blackish mark around his left eye and if one focuses enough, he would notice that the two fingers of his right glove were limped.

Also, his expression was pretty much neutral. Expressionless, if you may say.

Obviously, the man was tortured for a good while before he was brought here.

A few elders sucked in a cold breath when they saw his condition, they simultaneously glanced at Maeve, who didn't bother with anyone else, and questioned.

"Why did you do it?"

No one needed any more context, those four words were more than enough, Hem's dead expression fluttered as he glanced at Maeve and without hiding anything, he replied.

"It was Disciples Krilin." (Again, no complaining about the names)

Without any more words, Maeve clapped her hands again and 2 more disciples came in.

The cycle continued as Maeve solved the case in front of all the elders. More and more culprits involved came in, gave the name of the one behind them, and left. The interesting thing to note was that each of these had signs of physical torture on their body, some even had missing limbs.

The more people came in, the more fearsome Maeve became in the Elders' eyes.

One has to understand that not even a day has passed after the attack on the Sect. That means that all of this was done in less than a day and that too it was right under everyone's eyes without anyone knowing.

One thing was clear,

Maeve was terrifying.

But the one who was facing this terrifying female, Elder Ario, was calm and even smiling. This sight confused the elders. The more culprits came inside, the more those elders could connect them with Elder Ario in some way or the other. Some even started believing that it was Elder Ario who was the traitor but seeing him acting so calm, they thought and hoped that it wasn't the case.

Maeve glanced at smiling Ario and as he noticed her gaze, his smile brightened even more.

Maeve chuckled and clapped again.

Again, 2 disciples came in, and another man was brought in.

But this time, the calm and smug face Elder Ario was making was no longer to be seen. Instead, his face was pale white. On the other hand, Maeve smiled.

The man, or, the disciple who entered had no scars or marks on his face. Instead, he was glaring at Elder Ario with eyes full of rage and sheer hatred. Without even Maeve saying anything, the disciple pointed his finger at Elder Ario and shouted.

"It was him! His disciples Elijah, who I always regard as my senior brother came to me and told me to alter the guards' watch yesterday night! Due to my respect for Elijah, I did what he asked me to without even questioning the motive.

I will admit, it was not the first time I did few odd jobs for Elijah, but it was never to a length that would damage the Sect. Even after the attack, I never believed that it was planned by Elijah or Ario. After the attack, I decided to go to Elijah's house to discuss our next step but never in my entire life would I have expected that bastard Elijah to plan a sneak attack to get rid of me!

If it wasn't for Elder Ace saving me from the attack, I would not be standing here today!"

Saying all that, the disciple turned towards Sect Leader Kalm and knelt on his knees.

"Sect leader, I know what I did was wrong! I was led on by these two bastards and did something unforgivable. I won't ask something like forgiveness as I know very well that I don't deserve one but I would fulfill at least one duty as a disciple of this sect and would reveal the traitor of our sect before surrendering to the sect."

He then pointed towards Elder Ario and shouted.

"The bastards who betrayed our sect and joined hands with the enemy are none other than Elder Ario and that bastard Elijah!"

As his words ended, everyone present in the room turned towards pale-faced Elder Ario whose eyes were filled with shock and his legs were trembling uncontrollably.

"N-no… H-he's lying! He's lying! How could you all believe a mere disciple rather than believe an elder who served the sect for years!?"

"Oh? But why shouldn't we believe him, Mr. Ario?" to Elder Ario's outburst, Maeve smiled.

"I heard that he and your disciple Elijah are really close. Not only that, there have been cases when he sided with you in the past. Why would you say not to believe him? Is it possible that he wants to harm you as well? Just like Payn did?"

Hearing her words and seeing that disdainful grin on Maeve's face, Elder Ario couldn't control his anger and roared.

"You! It's all your fault! It's you who is manipulating everyone! You were trying to target me from the beginning! It's all your plan! You must be the actual traitor! How dare you try to break the trust between me and the other Sect elders!

I-I will kill you!"

Then without waiting anymore, Elder Ario took out his sword and dashed towards Maeve!
