"Xue Mei honey are you ready? The party's about to begin.."
"Yes mum, don't come in go help dad with the guests.."
Tang Xue Mei knew her mother would throw a fit if she found out she wasn't wearing the dress especially made for the occasion.
"Okay, is Tang Can there with you?"
"Yes we'll be down soon don't worry.."
Tang Xue Mei smoothen her gown, she had changed her mind, she decided to let down her hair.
Tang Can walked to Tang Xue Mei as she held out her hand.—"I'll walk you downstairs.."
When they got to the stairs they met Ju Jing and Du Xuan, Tang Xue Mei lips twisted in distaste, this was the man she had fallen heads over heels in love with and because of him she lost her life and her children.
Dressed in a brown tuxedo, Du Xuan looked dashing but in Tang Xue Mei's eyes he was plain and unattractive.
"Mei mei you look beautiful.."
Ju Jing smiled brightly in front of everyone she had act her best even though the cold glint her eyes didn't go unnoticed by Tang Xue Mei.
"Jing, thank you.."
Tang Xue Mei sincerely thanked Ju Jing, in her past life even though she had bad wishes for her, she still kept her company. She smiled knowing that today would be the last day they would be friends.
She smiled coldly and turned to Du Xuan she complimented him while trying her best not to gag.
"Xuan you look so handsome!"
"Yes i know you don't look bad either."
Du Xuan said honestly compared to Tang Xue Mei in beauty, Ju Jing was no match for her, Ju Jing wore makeup to accentuate her looks while Tang Xue Mei she could wow the crowd just by looking natural.
"This is our engagement party, are you happy?."
The expression on Du Xuan's face was mixed with both displeasure and disgust which quickly disappeared and returned with a smile.
He walked up to Tang Xue Mei wanting to hold her hands but she hid them behind her back and put on a smile instead.
"I-i can't wait.."
Du Xuan managed to say, Tang Xue Mei chuckled inwardly, she had truly been blind in her past life, but now, she could see through everyone.
"Alright Tang Can and i will go downstairs.."
Tang Xue Mei wrapped her hand around Tang Can's tightly as they both continued walking down the stairs.
Du Xuan frowned, she didn't look as excited as she usually does when he was around neither did she even reach out to hold him.
"There's something off about her, did she figure out anything.."
Ju Jing shook head she was very sure that Tang Xue Mei was clueless about them, and Tang Can wouldn't say anything so as not to upset Tang Xue Mei.
"She's probably too excited.."
Du Xuan frowned but he didn't say anything he got a bad premonition, this engagement party won't go right.
"CEO Feng, we're glad you could make it.."
Tang Zijun smiled as he reached out to shake Feng Shihan but the young man only nodded.
"The master doesn't like to speak too much but since we're partners he decided to make his presence known since we had collaboration before and also because you sent an invite.."
Su Huiying smiled and nodded—"We didn't expect CEO Feng would grace our occasion as well.."
Tang Zijun and Su Huiying walked Feng Shihan to the sitting area and soon the occasion had officially begun.
Both the Tang and Du families had arrived and the Du's had obvious displeasure written all over their faces.
Su Huiying sighed and took a deep breath, she walked up to the stage as she took the mic.
At this time everyone had already taken their seats and the spotlight was on Su Huiying.
"I sincerely want to thank everyone for sparing their time to be part of this joyous occasion.."
Du Xuan sat beside his mother, while Tang Xue Mei sat beside Tang Can and Ju Jing. From where Feng Shihan sat he had the perfect view of Tang Xue Mei.
He took off his spectacles and pinched his brows, he had only been here for minutes but he had already grown tired.
He placed his spectacles one and looked at Su Huiying with his usual cold face.
"We'll leave after this speech.."
The shorter man nodded what was the point of coming if they were going to spend barely ten minutes here.
"I'm going on now, make sure you get a good picture of Ju Jing's face.."
Tang Can smiled and nodded, Tang Xue Mei took a deep breath and raised her hand.
The spotlight landed on her and her white porcelain hand was shown to the guests.
Su Huiying paused wondering what issues Tang Xue Mei was having.
"Mother before you go on, i'd like to say a few words.."
Mrs Du frowned, even at a time like this, this foolish girl still interrupted, she sighed not everyone could be as sensible as Ju Jing.
Su Huiying nodded and stepped down from the stage, Tang Xue Mei turned to Ju Jing and walk to her to the stage. She blamed it on being nervous so Ju Jing could only stand up.
Ju Jing frowned she was going on the stage too early, Du Xuan had planned that he would call off the engagement and say he was going to get engaged to her instead.
