The very next day, Rhyland who was still under house arrest was awoken with the shrill sound of his phone ringing.

It was his friend Dimitri.

On the phone, the man who didn't like to mince words broke the news to Rhyland without much ado.

"Your girl is leaving. You need to get your ass out of there right now."

"What?!" Rhyland asked, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

"You heard me." Dimitri repeated succinctly.

It was the graveness in Dimitri's voice which galvanized Rhyland into action.

"Repeat what you said." Rhyland demanded in all seriousness.

There was a short sigh on the other end of the line before Dimitri continued to speak. "Aubrey is leaving for California today. Her flight is at 10am."

Rhyland looked at the clock on his phone. It was in 2 hours time.
