The big foot wearing slippers kicked out fiercely, sparing no concern for gentleness with Si Yuchen involved.

Gu Xiaonuan rolled onto the floor, awakening to the loathsome figure slowly materializing in her sleepy eyes.

Rubbing her sorely landed backside, Gu Xiaonuan seethed with hatred, "Si Yuchen!"

"Grandpa, this is the Gu Xiaonuan I mentioned to you. Just a foolish woman," Si Yuchen introduced casually, completely ignoring her unladylike scramble.

She was merely a tool for carrying on the lineage; she couldn't possibly expect to have any rights.

Elder Si looked her up and down carefully, hands clasped behind his back, seemingly very pleased, "The young lady from the Gu Family, do you remember your grandpa?"

"Grandpa?"

Gu Xiaonuan, with her watery big eyes, couldn't help shaking her head.

"You were young back then, it's normal you don't remember. But you're about to become our Si family's granddaughter-in-law, so we'll have plenty of time to get to know each other. Don't be fooled by my stern exterior."

Elder Si's kind and tolerant attitude towards Gu Xiaonuan took Si Yuchen by surprise, deepening his resentment toward her.
