Elaina's POV

"You would not want to be mated to the alpha's son once you find out what he has done". 

I read through the anonymous text the over and over again as I wondered which one of my friends was trying to play a prank on me. My ceremony with Max had been announced and everyone knew that we we going to be mated in a matter of days.

I figured that this text was from someone who didn't want us together, so I just dismissed it and focused on the congratulatory messages that were pouring in. I knew that some of them were ingenuine and others not so much, but none of them came close to being as malicious or insulting as the first one.

The ceremony was in two days and because it was announced by the alpha, I expected a large population of guests who would witness everything. But Max insisted that he preferred a smaller crowd and the guests that were going to be present were coming strictly on invitation.
