Chapter 11: Where is he?

She woke up that morning to find Xenia arranging the bed sheets.

"You shouldn't be doing that Xenia." She got up from bed.

"No Princess Reina let me." She continued with what she was doing.

"You aren't here to work Xenia, we've got over sixty seven maids in the palace."

(Chuckles) "I've been doing this for you since forever I'm used to taking care of you My Lady." She smiled.

"Your warm bath is ready you should change now." She walked into the bathroom to arrange for the bath.

Reina had her bath and got dressed. Two maids matched to her room with trays of food in their hands.

She sat eating. "You should come try this Xenia." She called.

"I rather not My Lady." She applied oil on Reina's feet.

"I insist. Please, come sit." She made space for her to sit.

"Thanks My Lady." She smiled as she joined her.

"That reminds me, why did nothing special happened on your wedding night?." She raised a brow.

"I didn't feel comfortable Xenia. It was an awkward situation. The whole thing of being in an arrange marriage is so difficult." She explained.

"But you like him, I mean you get jealous each time he talks about going to see his mistress." She softly hit her shoulders with hers.

"I..I don't know Xenia." She looked down to her hands.

"I'm sure you've started having feelings for him already. I mean who wouldn't? You're so lucky." She smiled.

It was getting dark and Reina accompanied by

Livia and Xenia had a walk through the garden.

"I haven't seen His Highness around. That's strange." She told Xenia.

"He isn't in the palace My Lady." Livia spoke.

"Where has he gone to?." Reina asked.

"He went for a war at Makai with his men." She replied with her heads down.

Reina turned to look at Xenia who stared back.

"When did he leave?."

"He left in the morning but he isn't back yet and it's unusual cause he always returned on time." Livia struggled to say.

"I heard the Kingdom of Makai is one of the Greatest Kingdoms. They defeated The Southerns months back and took the kingdom from them." Xenia added and this made Reina really worried.

"Don't worry My Lady, His Highness has never lost in a battle. I believe he'll return before you wake up." Livia assured.

Reina was so down and worried that she prayed for her husband's safety. She returned to her chambers and she found it really hard to sleep that she had to beg Xenia to sleep next to her.

She sat up while Xenia slept. She couldn't stop thinking about Lorcan. What if he was in trouble? Was he okay?. Where is he? Her heart was racing and she didn't now what to think. She knew she had to be positive. She assured herself that he'd be fine and would arrive tomorrow. She managed to sleep for an hour and was awakened by a nightmare she had. Lorcan was bleeding, he was badly hurt,

She sat up panting and Xenia woke up immediately.

"Are you okay?." She asked with sleepy eyes.

"Just a bad dream. You go back to sleep." She forced a smile and Xenia yawned and went back to sleep. Of course she didn't want to disturb her with the dream she had.

"Where are you Husband." She whispered and tears rolled down her cheek.

She couldn't go back to sleep so she sat up looking at something she didn't know when she dozed off.

*****

It was morning now and Reina was up early today. She rushed through the hallway to Lorcan's room to check if he came.

"I heard that Prince Lorcan hadn't arrived since yesterday he went for a war." A maid whispered to the other maid as they held basket of rose flowers in their hands.

"Who knows if he's in trouble, he has never returned the next day after war." She replied.

"I only pity the Princess I wonder how she must be feeling right now. They just got married newly they needed time alone ."

"What could he had done? The Kingdom of Makai asked for a war and he couldn't say no he has the Kingdom's pride to uphold." She replied and they stopped talking immediately they saw Reina coming.

"Good Morning Your Highness." They bowed and greeted in chorus. Reina nodded and majestically walked to Their chamber. That was their room but they both had personal rooms.

She walked in and she hoped she'd see something that belonged to him. Maybe his scent or something would do she just needed to feel Her husband's presence.

She missed him a whole lot and she was so worried. She knew he'd be back but when? She needed to see him now.

She broke down and sat behind the door crying her eyes out.

Now his voice echoed in her ears. This was so hard for her. Worried about a caring man who went for a war and hadn't returned.

Why was she this hurt? Was it because she felt she had been a bad wife to him?

"I'm so sorry Lorcan." She whispered with her face now wet from tears.

She felt so miserable. When she had him she didn't value him. She didn't treat him right and now he was away she felt this way?

Wasn't she selfish? She cared only about herself not minding that she was married to a man that had burning needs too.

She just realized how selfish she was. He didn't deserve that. He just didn't.

She had missed his touches. If only she knew he'd be away she wouldn't have pushed him away when he came closed to her. The images came fresh to her head and she closed her eyes really tight trying not to imagine them.

When she was okay she left the room to have a walk in the battle field.

The battle field was where the Princes and their men practiced for upcoming wars.

She had the image of Lorcan holding her waist when they were at this spot.

She really missed him and it drove her crazy. Her heart, body, soul, everything ached for Lorcan.

She spotted Prince Theodore and Lysander with four men behind them.

They walked to her with a strange grin. She could feel they were saying something about her from afar.

"Princess Reina." Theodore smiled standing in front of her.

"Your highness." She slightly bowed.

"You look worried. Are you okay?." Lysander asked.

"Your worried about Your Husband ain't you?."Theodore smirked.

Reina nodded. "Have you heard of any news about him? He hasn't returned to the palace." She said worried. The Princes looked at themselves and bursted out laughing.

Reina stared at him in confusion wondering why they laughed.

"You shouldn't be worried. Are you forgetting who Lorcan is?." Theodore cackled.

"He can never be killed by anyone Princess." Lysander continued.

"Let's go pray to God he never comes back." Theodore laughed out loud and Reina wondered why he said that. Why would his own brother wished him dead?

"We know him. He'd be back." Lysander asserted and they both walked forward leaving Reina in deep thought.

She wondered why his own brothers hated him this much. They didn't even came for the wedding and they weren't nice to him at all not even in her presence. Even if they didn't like him at least they should pretend to.

She walked back into the palace to find Livia and Xenia searching for someone.

"There you are My Lady." Livia walked to her.

"We've been looking for you. Where were you." Xenia spoke.

"I went to search for His Highness." Her face told it all they didn't bother to ask her if she saw him.

She walked to her chambers and sat at the window looking at the sky.

"Let's just hope he comes tonight. You look sick. Are you okay?." Xenia asked .

"Why would I be fine Xenia." Her eyes were teary.

"You should stop worrying My Lady. His highness would come soon. Maybe he went for a visit. Let's just be positive." She patted her head.

"What if something bad has happened to him and no one cared to go look for him. Why isn't anyone concerned?." She sobbed and Xenia drew her to rest on her lap.

"Cause he's A great warrior. Everyone knows that he has never been defeated in battle. From what I heard he started training at the age of four." She patted her head gently.

"He never told me he'd be going for war Xenia." She looked at something as she spoke.

"Why would he?. He felt you needed space. You needed some time to know if actually you wanted him and I can see you're already in love with him but you don't want to accept it." She halted when she saw Livia walked in with a tray of food.

"My Lady you didn't had Lunch so I brought you food." Livia kept it carefully on the table.

"You should eat My Lady." Xenia slowly lifted her head up.

"I'm not hungry Xenia." She looked really weak.

"You'll get sick if you don't eat something." Livia said.

"Please Reina just have a little." Xenia begged.

"It's getting dark and His highness hasn't arrived yet Xenia." She hugged her and cried.

She knew she wasn't supposed to do that. She was a princess and she shouldn't be seen doing that but what could she do? It was so hard for her to bear.

Where is Lorcan???
