I was startled out of my trance when I became aware that everyone's attention had been drawn to us all of a sudden. Colter appeared to be in the same state of shock that I was, and it took a few seconds before he entirely let go of me.

I expressed my gratitude to him by saying, ‘‘Thank you…’’ and he grinned in response.

I turned my back on him and walked away, and it amazed me that I could still feel people watching at me even though I had already resumed my steps. However, I stopped moving when I heard Colter's voice calling out to me.

He called out, ‘‘Miss...,’’ and I was at a loss for what to do in response. ‘‘Have we met before? You look familiar…’’

I responded with, ‘‘No, Sir...'' and proceeded to go to the table where Jade was sitting, and I found her looking at Colter.

‘‘Are you okay?’’ she asked with worry, but her eyes were still on the man she has feelings for.
