‘‘Well, I…’’ I cleared my throat before I continued. ‘‘I’ll tell you everything about me, just…’’

I waited a moment while I considered his facial expression.

‘‘Just what…?’’ he questioned, his expression remaining unchanged.

‘‘Just let me stay in your penthouse…’’ my voice was soft when I said this, and I didn’t have to repeat myself when I saw the worried expression on his face.
