Devon parked the car in front of Ellison building, and a valet opened the door for me. I thanked him before hopping out of the car and quickly following Devon when I saw him entering the building at a brisk pace.

‘‘Wait, Miss! Where are you going?’’ My path was blocked by a security guard, and when he saw my face, his eyes narrowed in hostility. ‘‘I recognized you as the girl who rode the private elevator the other day!’’
