‘‘Snow!’’ The mischievous girl cried out to the dog, but the dog paid no notice to her and instead focused his attention on me. He leaped up and placed both of his paws on my waist.

Fuck!

I had a momentary loss of equilibrium, but I was able to recover quickly. I went completely still as the wet tongue of the dog explored every nook and cranny of my face.

‘‘Snow!’’ the girl scolded. ‘‘Get down!’’

The dog didn’t listen and continued to lick my face repeatedly.

‘‘Snow…’’ the girl called him again, and grabbed the dog by the collar, and yanking him away from me. ‘‘You better get out of here right away, before he devours you!’’

‘‘Devours me?’’ I laughed. ‘‘Can’t you see? He’s very fond of me…’’

And then I started scratching the dog's head, and he wagged his tail enthusiastically the whole time. But the girl pulled him by the collar again, and stepped forward before she closed the door behind her, and faced me with eyes that were burning with fire.
