As I felt such unease, I took a few slow, deep breaths while Devon waited for me to speak. When people questioned me about myself, I was always so uncomfortable and awkward. I didn't feel like I had anything insightful to contribute to the conversation. My preference was to answer questions, rather than talk about myself.

However, Devon was the one who inquired of me, and I was apprehensive about letting him know about my true identity. What for? He is getting married, and he broke his promise that he’d look for me, four years ago.
