‘‘Mr. Ellison…'' I got up from my seat and walked up to him. He met me with his arms open and pulled me into a tight embrace.

‘‘Michelle…'' he chuckled. ‘‘It's been quite some time. How are you, sweetheart?’’

‘‘I'm doing great, Sir…'' I gave him a warm grin as I moved away from him. My gaze darted at the bathroom, and I couldn’t help but bite my bottom lip out of uncertainty over what to do.

There is no doubt that Mr. Ellison would look for his son. But if Devon were to come out of the bathroom right now, they would see him, and I don’t know how to explain to them why he was hiding inside.

‘‘How come, you know my parents, Sir?’’ I inquired while motioning for him to take a seat on the spot next to dad. ‘‘I would never have guessed that you knew each other...’’

I reached up to the shelf and took out an additional glass, which I then filled with orange juice before setting in front of Mr. Ellison on the table.
