1 Chapter 1 The First Day Out of Prison _1

When Lu Yebai pushed open his bedroom door, he saw a woman lying on his king-size bed who shouldn't have been there.

She was a petite, delicate woman, her black hair spread out on his pure white bed linens, accentuating her small, innocent face which was as white as the palm of a hand. Her skin was so white it seemed translucent, contrasting with the snowy white sheets. Her rosy lips were slightly puckered, making her sleeping face look a tad innocent.

When Lu Yebai saw her face clearly, a flicker of anger passed through his deep eyes. He swiftly went forward and jerked the woman sleeping in his bed upright. He looked as though he wanted to throw her on the floor but seemed to disdain sullying his floor as he abruptly dragged her out the door.

Meng Xi'er woke up in her dream, disoriented. Her body hit the floor with a heavy thud, and she yelped in pain. She then saw Lu Yebai tossing the sheets and duvet out from the room.

Upon hearing the commotion, Madame Lu rushed upstairs. She helped Meng Xi'er up, shielding her behind herself. Seeing Lu Yebai throw his bedding out as if it was trash, she couldn't resist asking: "Yebai, what's going on?"

Meng Xi'er hid behind Madame Lu, her face slightly pale.

She knew what Lu Yebai was doing.

He was disgusted by her!

He intended to throw away everything that she had touched!

Upon this thought, she clenched her fists, her eyelashes trembling slightly.

Lu Yebai finally cleared his bed of pillows and blankets. He then lifted his head to look at his mother. His handsome face held a stern expression, his voice icy cold, "What am I doing? Shouldn't I be asking you that?"

"What have I done?"

"You let her into my room, what were you thinking?!" Lu Yebai couldn't bear to even glance at Meng Xi'er, he didn't even want to say her name. He nearly snarled the question, "Do you have any idea—"

"Lu Yebai!" Madame Lu was also angered by his attitude. She shielded Meng Xi'er, raising her voice, "Xixi is your fiancé. You have not seen each other for five years. I let her into your room to catch up, what's wrong with that?!"

"Fiance?" Lu Yebai laughed, as if he had heard a hilarious joke. He stood in front of Madame Lu, looking down at her, questioning, "Are you telling me to marry a woman who has spent five years in jail? Ha, Mom, do you think I, Lu Yebai, have become so worthless?"

Upon hearing this, Madame Lu's face turned darker. She opened her mouth to say something, but Lu Yebai had already cut her off, coldly declaring, "I tell you, even if all the women in the world are dead, I will never marry her! A woman as vicious as her, do you not worry that she might suffocate me in my sleep?"

The disdain in his words was absolutely clear.

Meng Xi'er, standing behind Madame Lu, turned even paler. She bowed her head and bit her lips tightly without saying a word.

It's true, today is the first day of her release from prison.

And the reason for her imprisonment back then was attempted murder.

Madame Lu was speechless with fury and so was Lu Yebai. Who could possibly stay calm returning home from work to find the woman they despised in their room?

After he finished speaking, he left without looking back, ignoring Madame Lu calling his name from behind.
