The Surface

[Julius]

Right now, my classmates left the room, giving the president and I some space.

"President, are you perhaps implying that I helped Myla and decieved all of you?"

"Myla is alive and we don't have much lead, so I figure I should start with you, but I trust you Julius I just want to get your input."

If that is the case then there is no need for others to leave. The president right now is just hoping she can trust me.

I stroke my chin as I think about it. "President, you should know the vampire folklores and legend from our world. This world seems to be operating the same. When you took down Myla, you didn't merely finish her off, thus when we put her in her coffin she most likely just went to sleep and risen from the grave."

The president doesn't look amused. "That's quite a long explanation. I just want to hear if I can trust you. I don't need to hear your theories."

Did I make a wrong move? I probably made myself look more suspicious.

Regardless, I have to show my resolve. I will use my skill, [Sphere of Authority]. The skill was modified by myself in which one cannot lie while inside this sphere.

It expands to the size of her room. "President, I'll show you my resolve."

Shira seems bothered seeing I am using the [Sphere of Authority: Truth Script], since I can only use this ability for three minutes. Writing the script requires a lot of ancient runic knowledge that once the three minute mark is over, I have to rewrite it from scratch. It might take me even weeks to complete it.

"Julius, are you sure about this?"

I nod. "But I advice you to hurry President, time is ticking."

Even in this space, I'm not immune to the effects of the Sphere. And she knows that. Once a lie is detected, I will recieve damage.

"Very well then---" The president is thinking carefully for her question.

However, this is part of my plan to earn her trust. The quick time limit will cause her to be quick. Outmost she can only ask one question, if I can get through this I win. Also, the pressure will cause her to ask the most obvious question.

"Julius, what do you plan to do? Will you betray the safety of our class?"

My glasses glints as I answer. "President, my only goal is for our class survival. I will make sure everyone of us will make it til the very end."

Seeing the sphere didn't react and I'm fine, the President saw that I wasn't lying.

The time went by quick and the Sphere retracted.

The president sighs in relief. She smiles faintly as though reassured. "Regardless, I'm glad that I can trust you Julius. We are happy to have you on our side. I don't know what to do if the sphere reacted."

What I said wasn't a lie President Shira but the fact is I'm not on anybody's side. If you or anybody else stand against my goal, I won't hesitate to betray you, or even Myla.

[Verni]

Using further research in the dungeon, I manage to learn how to teleport to various domains instantanously, thanks to the map I have in my system.

The three girls joins me and now we are in the chambers of the dungeon just before its entrance.

Walking further, the hallways look dusty and old. There hasn't been anyone here it seems for a hundred years. Looks like this place is forgotten.

Levia says beside me. "I'm glad that you are able to teleport my lord, it might take me another century to get out of this place."

"Well, can relate. This infinite dungeon feels like an eternal maze of domains." Says Ren.

"I got teleported several times by Sagus back then. Now I just have to find out what magic he used and I manage to be able to use it."

However, it seems this doesn't work for my clones and it only works for me.

Ren then say, "anyway, I can't believe you became taller than me Verni. You are also good-looking now."

I became taller, huh? I just realized it when she mentioned it. For Ren's stature she is quite tall but I'm taller than her now after those years, compared to before. She used to be tall from my perspective.

Vermils nods enthusiastically. "I agree brother, you look even cooler now."

"I see..." Well, everyday I see my face on my clones for all of those few years, that I can't appreciate of how my body improved being an Eastern Overlord. Also, being an Eastern Overlord granted me a life span of a thousand years, a body that transcends human capabilities, youthful and attractive look.

Afterward, we finally saw the gate entrance. "Hey look!"

We then jog to it in excitement. Due to my presence it seems the dungeon gates opens automatically.

And right before us, a bright light blinds my sight as after a fresh breeze of soil and grass hit my nostrils.

We finally did it! We are finally on the surface. It's the first time I have stepped on the outside world. I laugh out of ecstasy. "Hahaha! Vermil, we did it! We are on the surface!"

"So this is the surface, huh? It doesn't disappoint me."

The girls as well are in awe. Especially since who knows how much long Ren and Levia were stuck on this dungeon. It's also Vermil's first time just like myself.

We are surrounded by thick forests. The air feels moist and foggy. There probably aren't any towns or city from here.

Looking behind us rests the tall and ancient stone tower of the Infinite Dungeon. From the outside, it looks small but its domains are found underground.

So this is the infinite dungeon, huh? It's what I imagine dungeons would look like.

Ren is stroking her chin. "If we are outside the infinite dungeon that means we are on the far east of the continent."

"Far east? What do you mean? What location are we in right now?"

Levia unfurls her wings. She flies up and checks where we are.

"We are near the edge of the Eastern Zen forest. A dangerous forest filled with tough monsters."

Tough monsters, huh? It has been a while since I had some exercise. Just in front of us, looks like there is a monster approaching us.

A slimy creature resembling an octopus is slowly crawling to us.

I wonder if this monster will give us a challenge. However, to my disappointment, it seems to be a lower level monster.

[Slime Octos: Level 60]

Ren readies her blade. "Looks like I have to use a hundred percent of my power again." She holds the hilt of the excalibur which rests in a scabbard on her waist.

In which I knock her head, hoping to put some sense into her. "Ren! That's a weak monster. I don't wanna go through that again. Besides why do you feel the need to use so much?"

"Tsk, that hurts you know Verni. I just want to feel the privilege of being alive again." She says.

"I'll just get over this quick."

I snap my fingers, dark flames appear on the Slime Octo and a large eruption that resembles that of a volcano exploded on the monster, which shocks everyone.

After the dusts clears out, a large crater is found and there is no trace of the monster.

Shit. I only intend to dissolve the monster with my cursed flames. I guess I have to learn to control my magic output.

Ren laughs beside me. "Haha, nice going there Verni."

I sigh. "Could it be that we are overpowered for this world?"

It never occured to me that I may be a very high level being in the overworld in comparison of what's normal. Most of my encounters are very high level beings after all. If at least, I need to know how this world works and what are considered the average level of most humans, so I can make a move.

Well, but being OP would makes sense since I'm the Eastern Overlord.

Using [Character Division], I create several clones of myself.

For the next step of the plan is to look for a city or a town. Then once we find one we will proceed to look for dungeons.

Afterward, my clones head out quick in various directions. They will notify me if they encounter some dungeon. For now, I guess I have to wait here.

"Hey Ren, you are from the church right? What do you plan to do now?"

Ren stares at me as though making me look like a fool.

"What do you mean by that?"

Ren sighs, "there's no way I can go back after being betrayed. I guess I'll just live my life the way I want to. Besides, I'll join you for now since I still owe you for saving me back then and freeing my people."

"I see, you will be a great help."

"Anyway Verni, I haven't introduced myself properly. My name is Rendora Falmer, a former Commander of the third division of the Holy Knights for the Church of Light. Also, probably, the last dragon-born of this world."

Dragon-born, huh? I guess there is one left and that reminds me of someone disgusting.

I scratch my head, I'm not good with this stuff. Yeah, I hated this at school. "Verni Millas, I guess I came from another world. I'm currently 19 and I'm probably in college if I'm still there. Though would I even pass their entrance exams?"

"You're speaking nonsense Verni. But one thing is clear you're one of the Ex-Hilo Heroes."

"Ex-hilo heroes?"

Ren nods, "its a term for heroes from another world who just appeared out of thin air. I'm glad to be acquinted with one since I know fate is on our side."

In manga its often referred as summoned heroes but since it was Kami who summoned us, I guess that's their term, huh?

"Anyway, are there many heroes in every generation?"

"When most of the heroes die, a new batch of heroes will appear again."

I remember the diary I found back then. There used to be students just like myself who got transported in this world and probably died. I can't believe that thing is playing with our lives!" I grip my fist firmly out of rage.

Kami! Someday, I'll find a way to make you pay.

Few minutes later, I got some message from one of my clones. A city has been detected due west about 5 kilometers away.

That was faster than expected.

I look at Ren and Vermil. "You two stay here. I'll be quick." I then fly up in mid-air where Levia joins my side.

"Ehhhh." Vermil seems disappointed.

"Sorry Vermil, but you can wander around if you are bored just don't stray too far."

She pouts her lips as though hesitant to agree with my words. "Okay."

Ren just waves, "take your time." She smiles suspiciously. I hope she isn't up to something that will make a mess.

Regardless, afterward, we left the place. I took Levia with me since we are the only ones who can fly.

[Rendora]

Looks like they are gone.

Feeling pleased I observe where they went. "West, huh? I hope I can find some of those goodies in that place."

I then walk towards that direction.

Vermil calls for me, "hey Ren, where are you going? Are you gonna leave me here?"

I wave at her goodbye. "I have something very, very important to attend to. Can you wait here for me."

She crosses her arms feeling upset. "Geez, all of you guys, doing as you please."

[Verni]

I take a deep breath.

So this is the surface, huh? I'm kinda curious what I'm going to find in this world. Though after I get some satisfying information, I will return to my dungeon and fortify it as well to revive each domains.

For now, here goes nothing!
