"We'll need more firewood soon."

Zara looked over at the corner of their room when Ayan had put all the firewood they used for lighting and cooking.

"You're right, we might as well start stocking up now for the cold season that's coming up. I wouldn't want you to go experience an unpleasant cold in the home." Ayan said.

"Alright then, I'm coming with you!" Zara said.

Ever since that incident in the the forest with the snake Beastman and Reiner, she hadn't dared go out without Ayan with her. She also hadn't seen Reiner since then.

"It's only been a couple of days, but why haven't I seen him? Huh? Not that I want to see him anyway! The only things for sure that if I do see him, he'll either pick a fight with me or bring up the contract he says I owe him!" Zara started shaking her head.

"Zara?"

Zara looked up and saw Ayans face close to her.

"Crap and another thing that's happened is the kiss I shared with Ayan! Even since then I've been more timid around him!" Zara's face flushed red.

"Maybe you should stay home." He said with a worried girl expression on his face.

"No, I'm fine really, I was just lost in thought about something." Zara said.

"Hmmm?"

"Anyway let's go!" Zara grabbed Ayans hand and they both went out the door.

Zara and Ayan walked close together down the dirt road towards the forest to gather firewood.

"Hey you said the cold season is coming right? I was thinking maybe I need to go ahead and start making some new clothes for us, as well as something for our feet."

Zara looked down at her bare feet hitting the dirt floor. No one here wore shoes during the hot seasons.

"Sure my female! On my next hunting trip I'll make sure to hunt for twice as many animals so you can make clothes out of their fur!"

The thought of having to skin animals that Ayan had killed make Zara a little queasy but as long as they had warm clothes for the cold season she could bear through it.

Suddenly something caught the corner of Zara's eye, well more like someone.

"Oh, isn't it almost time for you to go into hibernation? After all with that face of a bear who could blame you? I see you've even starting packing on the weight for the cold season." Sarah said while cackling like a witch.

"The nerve of this girl! And who was she calling fat? She had that flabby thing she called stomach laying on around her!" Zara thought.

Ayan stood behind Zara, although annoyed by Sarah's words, the males didn't usually get involved in the females squabbles.

"Ayan you really have hit a new low, following such an ugly female and still she has the nerve to turn down your advances for a contract! I don't know who's more pitiful, you or her." Sarah said.

"Tsk."

Zara could tell Ayan was really holding back, but no male dared attacked another female for they would be branded as a predator and either killed or run out of town.

"Where is all that noise coming from? Oh? Is it coming from your mouth? How awful, I thought it might have been a toad."

Both Sarah and Zara turned their heads to see a handsome man with a cold expression on his face.

"Reiner!"
