My Cheat IS Unrivaled!

Seth, a webnovel otaku like you and me, who is broke asf, has a mother in coma, and a dead father, - and running a dying noodle shack while he's at it, is transmigrated to an eastern fantasy cultivation type world. Whoopie! Its a dream come true! He does not care how it happened, and neither does he care why. What he does care about though, is growing strong like the MCs he had read about and making sure he leads a far better life here than he did on earth. He instantly begins to find his own 'cheat' that would set him apart from the other cultivators in the sectdom, be it a thousand year old spirit herb, or a magical beast that obeys him. Why wouldn't he, when, his life manual is basically a lifetimes worth of movies, anime, and online novels? But hey, shit happens and it turns out that the 'cheat' he manages to obtain is a very unlikely one that is far more than meets the eye. Who the hell would have thought that his last name, Serpentis, wasn't just a hell of an awful name, but also the title of a very powerful clan who could rival even the gods? "Sethren Serpentis, the Prince of Serpents, and heir to the Throne of Venom... I think that has a nice ring to it." With an uncanny cohort made up of a soul broken young mistress with sort of a personality disorder, a lecherous jade beauty dual cultivator whose... questionable techniques are rather disturbing, a blind swordswoman.. for some strange reason, a wimpy excuse of a cultivator who can see the future - so she's not completely useless, and a red headed dude who might as well be the sturdiest guy alive, Seth uses the power of his cheat to... Er... do what again? Ah, I can't really remember. I guess you'd have to read the rest of the book to find out. ✌ ;-)

Nightmare

Seth opened his eyes once again, a raging headache racking across his brains. He had just spent the last few hours testing the boundaries of the Scroll's power, and honestly, it was pretty impressive. For starters, he was able to recreate virtually anything on the face of the earth, ranging from weapons, to armor, and even useless stuff like chairs and tables. In the process, he had also found out about the strolls limit as well. He had tried to create a pistol, as that would severely aid him in the upcoming... event? that he would have to participate in because he stole the prize by mistake. But whole creating the pistol, the entire mold fell and turned back into ethereal energy. He tried again and again, until morning rose and Asami left to have breakfast, yet he could not just create the simple pistol. That was when it hit him. The blades and daggers he had been making were rather simple, since it was just a blade and a hilt, but a gun world certainly be different as it would need a case, cartridges, bullets, and all the other inner workings. To cut the long story short, it did not work because he did not know the inner workings of a gun. But instead of dampening Seth's spirits, it only rose them higher.

"If I were to learn, and fully understand, how something works, doesn't this mean that I could replicate just about anything?!"

Indeed, the possibilities were endless. He would soon be able to create anything, from giant missiles, to complicated tanks. With something like that in his hands, he would be unstoppable! Everyone had dreamt of power, becoming so strong that nobody could tell you what to do or say, becoming so powerful, that fate and destiny lose their grasp over your life, and for the black haired youth, such dreams had just become a reality. But there was one problem left. He was still piss weak compared to the other inhabitants of this world, and his system had been deleted for him to fully harness the power of the scroll in full scale.

"I guess I'll soon have to start this cultivation thing like everyone else if I want to grow stronger."

He was already very powerful, thanks to the essence of the Ancient scroll he had absorbed, but the two words 'power' and 'strength' had vastly different meanings.

He was still gloating in ecstasy about his overpowered powers, when a shrill familiar voice broke him back into reality.

"Seth-san!"

'Asami...'

Seth thought with a deep sigh. Why did she have to come back?! Whenever the little girl was around, he would not be able to use the scroll's power all willy nilly as he wanted to. He even briefly considered running off to escape her. With twelve stats in agility, he had a fair chance of getting away, right? But the tantalising scent of breakfast woke his hungry stomach.

"Seth-san! Mama packed this for you. I told her you were up here doing mahgick, and sge said I should bring it over. Did I do good?"

"Yeah Asami, you did real good. I'm starving."

He ruffled her raven black hair, which she seemed to enjoy as she was beaming with smiles - or maybe she enjoyed the praise. One couldn't really tell when it came to kids. Anyways, Seth dug into the steamed rice and fish he was served like there was no tomorrow. He was very proficient at using chopsticks now, and so clearing the entire bowl took no less than a minute. Weirdly, the little girl's green eyes were focused on the ball rolling up and down on Seth's neck as he chowed down on the food.

"Seth-san..."

"Mmn?"

"Why did you swallow a stone?"

Raising a brow, and taking a breather from power clearing a nine inch bowl, Seth stretched.

"What do you mean?"

Asami pointed at her own small slender neck.

"Lookie here. I don't have a stone thingy in my neck, because my mama stopped me from swallowing a stone once. But papa has a flabby one like that of a turkey, and he says he swallowed a stone when he was my age."

Seth let out a chuckle. How good it was to be a child. She had nothing to worry about, nothing bothering her, and was free to enjoy her little life. Whereas he, he had to worry about the Imperial Sky Lord's trial, learning about the intricate details of how weapons worked so he could accurately reproduce them, his current strength, and the threat of being unalived the moment he was found out.

'Life is hard..'

However, the little girl's life was a bit more complicated than he thought. She had the uncanny ability to foresee most events, but she had not shared it with anyone before, not even her grandparents knew. But this time, she had had a very disturbing vision, that only remembering it made her little bones quake.

"S... Seth-san?"

"Yeah, Asami?"

This time, Seth had a worried frown on his face. The little girl did not look that good. Her face had turned deathly pale, and her emerald green eyes had lost their shine. She looked sick, if anything.

"Are you okay? Is anything wrong?!"

He had been with Old man Shiro and his family for quite some time, and he kind of saw the pink haired child as his own sibling. When she wasn't pummeling him with thousands of questions, that is. Asami fiddled around with her fingers a bit, before steeling her resolve. Not all of her visions usually came true anyways, and maybe it was same for this terrible one.

"Um... I-I had a really bad nightmare, one that we all die. Hundreds of bodies were piled up like sacks of potatoes, and at the top, there I..."

She had begun to tear up at this point. Her watery eyes dripped tears that rolled slowly down her ivory skin, and she sniffled while she continued the story.

" ... a... at the very top, there I was. But I was a corpse. They hit me... they hit me with an axe on my head, and... and they killed mama and papa. "
