Ryuji's Initial Setup

Yubis seeing Ryuji losing his composure, he chuckled. His elven friend was much more composed than this guy. 'Takehiko-kun was way better than him. If this is his brother, I should treat him better.'

"Most of the transfer has been done we can go to the initial setup now." The jackal god pointed to a cafe door. The european glass door appeared out of thin air. The gods entered and was astonished to the interior. It was cozy and air of mystery. It had a gothic feel to it. There are bookcases at the corner, a bar counter and several cases for weapons and vases that span during the age of pottery.

Ryuji followed Yubis and Morticia, which then followed by the Michizune and Bishamonten. He was astounded then again. It's similar to a niche cafe or coffee shop back in earth.

Michizune was excited like a kindergarten in a field trip. but Bishamonten had already gone to this place several times.

Everyone sat on the sofa while Yubis took out a manila envelope. He started explaining the world of Zariya. "For starters, Zariya is a world that you are thinking of. Magic, dragons, elves, dwarves, humans, monsters are in one world. It's about four times bigger than earth. We gods are responsible for managing these planets." It looks like a business proposal discussion. 'If Yubis-sama joined the marketing team, he would be a director right now.' Ryuji thought.

"Now we don't have a mission for you but basically this transaction where we pull out energy from your world to ours is already the mission itself. As what to do next, we would like you to live longer as we decipher the data from the energies transferred to convert it to the ecosystem of the planet."

Ryuji's eyes were glittering in excitement. This is it! He will be transmigrated into another world. Yubis explained that his soul will be migrated into the world to bring spiritual energy and magic energy. This was like the same story he read back when he was alive. Salary man dies. His soul was a cannon fodder to move magic and spirit from Earth and that's his mission. As for any request once he arrives, it's a free for all. He can laze around or do some actual work.

Michizune was dumbfounded about the man's peculiar excitement. It seems this is some lifelong dream that he has. He read the data report that he just reads manga to reminisce his life with his brother, but out of his expectations this guy seemed to be reading manga as a hardcore fan. No wonder that this guy was surprised of being able to meet them rather than dying itself. Are there really humans that have this kind of affliction?

"Being a manga fan yourself you are surprised to see someone like him?" Bishamonten whispered and gave a smug but it looked like a stoic face still. He was teasing this deity who had a knack for horror stories.

Michizune glared at the God of fortune but did not retaliate back.

Yubis continued explaining basic details to Ryuji as the latter intently listens to the Jackal God's explanation. He explained the world details briefly like magic, skills, and titles.

Ryuji looked at the statistics page. He was ecstatic about the fact of using magic but as he went through the list, he noticed items that are "(Sealed)".

"Yubis-sama, why are items that are sealed?" Ryuji can't help but ask.

"That it seems your level is too low to see that." Yubis smiled sincerely.

Ryuji scanned the faces of the other gods with a helpless expression. Morticia had no reactions at the moment. Bishamonten has a stoic face and hearing Michizune's introduction, he would not know anything about it. He had suspicions that it might be something special but if he can live again, he can try to see if he can unlock the sealed.

Ryuji scanned the document again, some of the listed items seemed to be gained with his previous work skill set. His title is also his last job occupation. He could just inwardly laugh at himself. His current level seemed to be imbalanced, some items like void, magic are high but his strength, dexterity seemed to be at the lower end. Monster taming seemed to be a promising item. His eyes twinkled dreaming of familiars, probably a dragon or a wolf, that would be nice. Also, space and void magic seemed to be high as well, but he may need to learn spells for it. What's the use of having a high level on that magic but could not use it on any spell? It would be useless for him. He would need to unlock its potential first.

"Yubis-sama, about the Unique skill. What are those?" Ryuji asked but he concealed his excitement. It seems this is truly another world. is this like the novel he read about the monster that eats to gain skills?

"Ticia-chan if you may." Yubis passed over the details to Morticia. Ryuji guessed that this is part of her training when heard the introduction earlier. He looked at the Goddess of Death and intently listened.

"Unique skills are rewards to beings that were able to provide service to Zariya. These skills are usually gained through their previous life." Morticia eloquently explained in simple words. "The devour skill was gained due to your multiple occupations. Your hunger for knowledge and necessary skills to perform the job that was given to you led you to be a hardworking person which earned this skill."

Ryuji was very happy to hear it and at the same time he was crying inside thinking that those years of hardships of doing multiple jobs gave him such a wonderful skill! He can't wait to try it out then. He looked at the paper again and checked. Plans are already forming in his head to level up his skills so that he can use them effectively in his new life. Now the last thing to select is the race. Like every RPG game that Ryuji played usually big monsters and his brother would pick up elf class. One time they played opposite sides because he wanted to play an orc and his brother sticks to an elven race which caused them to be frustrated. Whenever he visits the elven village, he ends up getting killed while his brother would suffer the same thing. Would it have the same effect. But since it is one in a lifetime chance, he would choose to be a demi-human this time. One does not have this capability and he will surely seize it.

"Yubis-sama, can I be a demi-human?" Ryuji probed. He was concerned since most of the introduction was about pertaining to humans.

"Yes. Do you have something in mind?" Yubis sensed that like his brother Takehiko they will choose a non-human race. They had to open the selection to everyone last time because a human from another world wanted to be a Dragon for a change. That caused the selection of the races to be opened for souls who are migrating to Zariya. Takehiko last time was a special case, Sefie was able to open the elf race last time as a protection for him. Yubis warned, "Selection of non-human races are quite difficult. You can still select elf or beastmen but if you are to become a monster there is a higher chance that you would be killed."

"I understand. I would choose anything not human at this point." Ryuji smiled. If his brother was here, he would be an elf as well. He had scribbled elf on the race field.

"Sign here so we can process your transfer." Morticia pointed at the contract.

"Takehiko-kun did choose the same thing back then." Yubis smiled as the contract landed his hands.

"Takehiko is alive?" Ryuji looked at the jackal god in shock.
