24: Brewing The Storm

Meng Han was taken aback by the sudden surge of Spiritual Sense that was coming from him. It's true that his cultivation base was only at Qi Gathering Realm. Nevertheless, his Nascent Soul Spiritual Sense was thousands times more terrifying than it's used to.

"Anything but that, Senior." Meng Han smiled wryly.

"I am joking." Li Fei chuckled. "Now, about our business, I believe you all came here to procure the freshly concocted pills, yes?"

They all nodded almost in unison.

Li Fei rubs his chin, looking at the clouds above. "I will not sell my pills, not today at least. I will sell the pills through the Royal Auction House so everybody will be able to procure them in a nice and safe environment."

Bu Kuang let out a long sigh. "If Senior Peng Lao said so, then so be it. If it's about the money to revitalize your business, I'll discuss this matter with my Sect Master, Immortal Crane."

Everybody went silent as Bu Kuang mentioned those two words. Immortal Crane, the infamous Sect Master of Heavenly Crane Sect that is rumoured to have an eternal beauty. She's one out of ten most beautiful ladies in the entire Yu Kingdom.

Meng Han's sly mind churning around and about to win his favor. "If that's the case, I'll help you to find jade beauties from all over the country as your starting roster. How about that?"

Li Fei chuckles gently. "I appreciate your kind offer but no. I will do it with my way."

Bu Kuang and Meng Han sighed dejectedly.

Meng Han shook his head. "It can't be helped then. However, my offer still stands. Just give me the word and I will see it done!"

Kong Wen, however, he immediately kowtowed before the Master Alchemist, he even planted his forehead on the ground.

"Senior Peng Lao! Please, I beg you, sell those pills to me. My army will need them to boost our strength for defending Black Sand City from the Crimson Scorpions!"

Li Fei frowned his eyebrows. As far as he understands the map of the Yu Kingdom, Black Sand City was the last frontier between human civilization and the desert where countless sand-dwelling Spirit Beasts sprawled the landscape. If Black Sand City ought to fall, the rest will collapse like a dominos.

"That's quite a serious. How bad is the predicament up there?" Li Fei inquired.

"The wall protect us from the relentless onslaught. However, we can't go out from the city. We have money, but the trading route was completely cut off from the outside world. The Ten Sand Lords can't do much about the sheer number of the Crimson Scorpion, we need them as the last bastion of our defense line. Though, we could sustain ourselves with the rations, but not for long. It would last us for six months, at most."

Li Fei lowered his gaze onto the ground, pondering deeply. "Alright. Here's the deal, I will auction the current stock in my disposal in three months from now, and after that, I will produce another batch in the next two months or so and sell them exclusively to Black Sand City with the same price as the auctioned value. Any objection?" Li Fei scanned the crowd, none of them raised a hand.

"Good. I think that'll end our discussion. Dismissed."

All of them sees themselves scarce from the courtyard except Kong Wen, who's still kowtowed on the ground. A sniffle was heard from him.

"Thank you, Senior!"

"Nah, don't mention it. Sorry, I can't do much about your city." Li Fei gave him a cold shoulder.

"No, this is plenty already! I will inform Lord Guan Hong this instance. Once again, thank you!"

Kong Wen darted in to the sky, leaving a blazing trail behind him.

''Haiyaaa… My first year in this whole new world would be so busy and hectic! Wonder if I could even traverse the land and find me a Millennium-old Spiritual Beast waifu." Li Fei chuckles wryly.

By the time he arrived at the main lobby, Aylan trotted to his direction. She plopped right onto his chest, begging for an affectionate hug. 

"Heavens! I was so worried! Concocting thousands of pills in one go, what would happen if you suffered Qi Deviation from overexerting your Qi?"

"He won't. As long as I am on his side that is."

A cute and girly highly-pitched voice resounded from the ceiling. Aylan was bewildered when Xiao Long materialize herself in her miniature dragon form. She perched on Li Fei's shoulder lazily, exhausted from the nonstop concocting session.

"Li-Li Fei is she…"

"Yes, Heavenly Jade Dragon Cauldron. Well, let's say she is the persona of that mythical cauldron. Ah, wait, since when you can speak in human tongue?!"

"Since the moment you fed me with your delicious Millennium Old Herbs." Said the mini dragon, nudging her snout onto his cheek.

"Oh… okay. That's good then."

Aylan's eyes widened as she remembered something more important.

"Ah! Ye Rui has already been awake since two days ago! I did a surgery on her leg. She was so fortunate that you brought her in time. Otherwise, I might have amputate her leg."

Li Fei's face winced due to the secondhand pseudo-pain as Aylan mentioned an amputation.

"Let's go see her then…"

By the time Li Fei entered the room, a nice fragrance of healing incense welcomed his nostrils. The girl in question was lying down on the bed with one leg wrapped in a very tight linen cloth.

Ye Rui was immediately about to get up when she saw Li Fei's figure.

"Sshh, it's okay." Li Fei says, giving her a gentle top on the shoulder.

"I-It's such an honor to be saved by you, Master Peng Lao!"

"Please don't. I saved you by a whim and out of my altruism. More importantly, how you feeling?"

"Aside from my numb leg, I feel great. Sister Aylan did a great job nursing a wastrel like me. I can't even imagine how can I possibly repay your kindness."

Li Fei pulled a chair and sat on it, eyeing the jade-eyed woman from up close. Although it was faint, he felt a trace of slumbering Immortal Vein in her body.

"How about becoming my disciple?"

"Sure." Ye Rui nodded unconsciously. "Eh, wait what?"
