1 DRUSTAN

I know you are the one when you meet me halfway to my darkness.

**************

Drustan looked at the gloomy sky through his silver eyes. He had never thought that he would end up like this, in such a sorry condition with wounds littered with his skin. Worse yet, the bleeding wouldn't stop.

If this was another day, he could heal himself in seconds. Yet today was a shit day for him, everything went wrong and he didn't even have enough energy to even lift his fingers.

However, those wounds were the last thing that he had to be worried about since he was still not safe yet.

Those creatures were still looking for him. They thirsty with his flesh and blood, wanted to devour him whole until he ceased to exist.

Fuck them all!

This was such a humiliation to be hunted when he used to be a hunter. They better prayed that he would not make it from this situation alive otherwise, his wrath wouldn't know any form of mercy.

Drustan sighed when the droplet of rain started to pour down, wet his front shirt and the cold night wind made him shudder involuntarily.

He furrowed his brows, even this messy coldness could affect him... Was his condition really that bad?

Drustan let out a chuckle, that sounds very distant and as cold as the night wind, but it could make one who listened to it shudder in fear. He looked more evil than a human, or maybe his evil blood was trying to fix him, but he was too stubborn to let it out.

No, the right words were; he couldn't let it out. Things would only get better for a while on the surface, but then the consequences of his action would be dire.

He had tried to take it out in the past, but what came after that was something that even his wildest imagination was pale in comparison.

Having tasted the first hand of the wrath of the evil inside of him, he rather chose to welcome death than to let the devil take control over him one more time.

Drustan closed his eyes. He was trying to listen to the surroundings, but the sound of the rain that hit the ground was the only thing that he could hear clearly, but maybe it was because he had drained his energy when he tried to escape the last attack and ended up here.

Everything flashed before his eyes, like a short movie, as anger started to bubble up in his heart and a low, dangerous growl escaped his lips. He tried to move his body that felt very numb, but only a finger managed to move.

His healing ability was crazily slow and this angered him even more. However, by feeling that way, it was like fuel to feed the devil inside of him.

Therefore, regardless of what was happening with him, Drustan needed to control his thoughts, only then could he control his situation.

The man didn't know how long he had closed his eyes, but the people that looked for him were still not able to catch up to him, thus it could be said as a piece of good news, yet he was sure his fortune wouldn't last for long.

Those creatures had tasted his blood and the greed for wanting more was very palpable to see.

Drustan was in a worse state. This was even worse than the last hundred years of his existence, but then something weird happened when he was deep in thought...

He still could hear the sound of the rain, but the droplet no longer hit his face, as he felt there was a shadow that loomed over him.

In an alert, Drustan opened his eyes to see who was standing near him without him noticing it since he couldn't feel the dark aura or anything. His senses didn't function properly.

As soon as Drustan opened his eyes, a girl dominated his sight. She was standing beside him, holding an umbrella over her and his head. The girl's green eyes looked at him curiously. She blinked a couple of times as if she was assessing the man before her eyes.

"What happened to you?" she asked straightforwardly, without being scared of what she was seeing.

Most people or you could say, humans, would have run miles away if they saw Drustan's figure at that moment.

His appearance was not bad, the fact was the other way around, but a pair of wings behind Drustan alone, which was as black as the night sky, would have sent them in shock, once they learned it was the real one. Not to mention his half-dead condition. People would think they found a dead body instead.

But then, the most pressing issue here was; no human was supposed to be able to see him in this state. He was invisible to human eyes.

Therefore, how could this girl see him? Was his power really that degrading? And why didn't she even flinch when she approached him? What creature was she? Did she be sent by the Quwwred clan to finish him off, so they could take the darkness from within him?

Yet, something didn't feel right with that thought. The people from the Quwwred clan wouldn't be so polite to cover him from the rain as she did now.

"You got injured badly," the girl said again. This time she moved even closer and squatted down in front of Drustan as if this was a normal thing to do and she had done it a couple of times. "I will help you."

Help him? That was one of the absurd things that Drustan had ever heard today.

He had been killing his enemies since the sun had not yet appeared on the horizon without a break and now this girl wanted to help him?

Drustan watched with a fierce glare when the girl stretched out her hand, she was about to touch him, despite the warning that Drustan silver eyes sent her way, yet something happened, golden dust emerged from the tip of her fingers...
