The force of the mind
The city all around Cael was burning, and dozens upon dozens of glowing, armor-clad figures flew through the sky, shooting down beams of death. The Starspawns were destroying the world, and Cael failed in his task.
Worse, he couldn't put it on some future version of himself to fix it… He was still manaless, despite all the years that passed.
Except, they didn't pass. This entire scene was wrong, and Cael was NOT helpless!
With one final push of pure defiance, Cael cleared the remaining fog from his head. Immediately, the abnormality of the current scene became as clear to him as day.
This all couldn't be happening while he was awake. The last thing he remembered was entering the second part of the Blood Trial… Was he in an illusory realm now?
He still couldn't reach his Blood Mage System, and couldn't even sense his mana. But the Starspawn kept attacking everything and everyone but Cael himself.
