12 LIKE DOGS AND CATS

"Aaaahhhh!!! Edgarrrrrr!!" Maya screamed with her body pushed hard against Edgar's back, because Edgar started his motorbike before she sat down properly.

Feeling annoyed and angry, Maya hit Edgar's back several times very hard.

Edgar just laughed silently, as Maya's soft hand slapped his back.

"You are right!! what if I fell earlier?" Maya said still feeling annoyed.

"Why did you fall?! Are you afraid that no one will help you? Of course I will definitely help you." said Edgar calmly while running his motorbike a little slower than at the beginning before leaving.

"I don't like your jokes Mr. Edgar!! not funny at all!" Maya said with a frown.

Edgar just smiled at Maya's innocent face. Edgar really liked looking at Maya's face which looked innocent like an innocent woman, although there are always a few times throwing scathing words at him. But still in Edgar's eyes, Maya is a woman who looks simple and not very good with sweet words.

Contrary to his introverted nature, Edgar doesn't like to talk much. Only talk when there is something to talk about. Edgar preferred to be alone than to hang around for long which did not bring him any benefit.

"Why are you silent and don't reply to my words, Mr. Edgar?!" Maya asked a little surprised that Edgar did not reply to his words.

"Aren't you the one who doesn't like my joking way?" said Edgar while looking in the rearview mirror to see Maya's facial reaction.

"Is it still far from the market place?" Maya asked, changing the subject by asking where the market was.

"We'll be there in a minute." Edgar said calmly when Maya asked him in a low tone.

Not long after, Edgar stopped his motorbike some distance from the market.

"Why are we stopping here? Isn't the market there?" Maya asked with a frown.

"We can't just go in there. If all the vehicles enter there, the road becomes jammed. And that can make the sellers and buyers who walk away angry." said Edgar as he took off his helmet then took off Maya's helmet.

"Hmm... you can be cute too. Surprise? don't you usually be nice to me? there must be something you want from me?" Maya said with a suspicious look.

Edgar held his breath, without answering Maya's words, Edgar immediately grabbed Maya's hand and brought her into the market.

Inside the market Edgar didn't let go of his hand at all.

"Edgar, let go of your hand. We are no longer in a criminal village, right? Quickly let go of your hand." Maya said roughly releasing Edgar's hand.

Edgar looked at Maya's face with exasperation. Edgar wanted to bite the lips of Maya, who was light-spoken, until she was quiet.

"Listen to me Miss Maya, this is a big market with lots of people passing by here. We could be separated and you could get lost. For that I hold your hand." said Edgar pulled Maya's hand back and held it tightly.

Again Maya let go of Edgar's hand with her innocent face.

"I'm an adult Mr Edgar, I won't go astray. Even if I get lost I can ask people. Problem solved!" Maya said while covering her ears when she saw Edgar want to talk.

Edgar took a deep breath feeling that it was useless to remind Maya who had a stubborn nature.

"Well it's up to you! The important thing is that I reminded you." Edgar said with his hands clenched into fists.

Seeing Edgar's gloomy face. A smile appeared on the corners of Maya's lips.

"Now what are we shopping for?" Maya asked while looking around the sales people.

"Let's just buy the chicken first." Edgar said walking to the chicken seller, but Maya's hand stopped him.

"Don't eat chicken. We only buy vegetables and fish. It's healthier." Maya said as she grabbed Edgar's hand and took him to the sea fish seller.

"Maya, listen to me. I prefer chicken to fish. I'm allergic to fish." Edgar explained.

"No Edgar! I know that's your excuse only. Remember, let me do the shopping and cook it. You just eat! so you don't be fussy!" Maya said while choosing fresh looking fish.

Edgar's hands were clenched into fists, his eyes didn't blink, staring at Maya who was busy choosing some fish to buy.

"Edgar how about this tuna or mackerel? This fish is very good to eat with vegetables." Maya said intending to diet again after several months of not having time to go on a diet.

"Do you want me to eat fish and vegetables instead?" Edgar asked while swallowing his saliva.

"If necessary." Maya said with a smile and a twinkle in her eye.

"You!! you!! well that's that then! it's up to you!" said Edgar with an annoyed face that he couldn't hold his patience to face a Maya.

With a triumphant smile, Maya took some tuna and mackerel and gave it to the fishmonger.

"I want three kilos of tuna, ma'am. How much is one kilo?" Maya asked the fish seller.

"Tuna fish this big, one kilo is ninety thousand." said the fishmonger while looking at Edgar who took out his wallet.

"One kilo ninety thousand, ma'am? I'll just take one kilo." Edgar said while taking out a hundred thousand.

"Edgar!!! wait!! don't pay just yet! I still haven't bid." Maya said with an annoyed look on her face then turned to the fish seller with a smile.

"Mom, can I offer it fifty thousand?" Maya asked with a smile.

"Maya!! what are you doing? that mother sold ninety thousand and you bid for fifty thousand? Really?!" Edgar said with a look of disbelief.

Hearing Edgar's words, Maya immediately grabbed the nape of Edgar's neck and slightly tiptoed closer to Edgar's ear.

"Look Edgar, all those peddlers usually sell their wares for two to three times as much! you are not silent! let me bid the price of the fish." Maya said with full eyes and smiled fondly at Edgar.

"Mom, how about I bid five...." before Maya could continue her words Edgar's strong hand had already tightly covered her mouth.
